Infamous second Son free this month on Ps+.

Never played it before, it was surprisingly good!

Cuphead will be the next "man I really wanted this to be good" game. I haven't heard a single good thing about its game design from people who have played it, just a lot of "well at least it looks great."

Yeah I've seen some gameplay and... I just don't get it. Sure the old school art is pretty, but it doesn't look particularly fun or interesting. It looks like an artistic super basic sidescroller.

Eh, seems ok so far, I'll probably stick with it for now but don't love how the game controls, feels pretty imprecise. The specially tuned audio on the Gold headset is great, at least. Was awesome to get for free since I likely never would have bought it - I think for the time being im not buying anything and just playing my PS+ games.

Infamous Last Light was great as one of the first PS+ games for PS4, someone said this one is more of the same and I'll be happy if so.

Possibly, I really haven't followed it or read much about it. I like old school games and it looks like Contra with the crazy old timey cartoon art and I've heard it's super hard which I also like.

I wouldn't be surprised if the simplicity and novelity wore off on people quickly

Contra has actual level design though. If you're a fan of interesting platforming and well thoughtout enemy placement/attacks then Cuphead might not live up to expectations. It's super impressive technically but it's the developers first game and there has been a lot of "wtf" decisions. For example the game was originally going to ship as a boss rush only until people starting asking "is that it" and they started adding to it. It's the major reason for the huge delays and the platforming feeling like it's been slapped together. With that said, I hope they turn it around and it becomes something great.

If you want a modern Contra check out Hard Corps Uprising if you haven't. Only on 360 and PS3 though.

Pretty impressive, too bad I already bought that piece of crap (ok it’s not crap but I didn’t enjoy it one bit).

Also need to revise my impressions of Infamous; have been having much more fun with it than initially expected. Games where simple movement is enjoyable and you get lots of upgradable and useful powers are my jam.

I really liked Infamous back when it came out, went through it twice (good/evil) for the platinum. Still a gorgeous looking game.

I've found a few weapons, but no health kits/bandages of any kind and I've yet to get to the part of a match where building anything happens. I've gathered supplies here and there, but haven't done anything with them. I don't know how to approach that portion of the game.

I certainly get the allure of this kind of game, but jesus christ its frustrating as hell. I've only had 3 guns fights that were heads up. The rest were getting shot in my back, and it seems like most of those were while they were in the storm. I've seen a streaming friend of mine who is really good at PUBG run into tons of situations where when they end up getting killed by people who will probably never win a match of it and I'm definitely part of that group of players.

Well it looks like I was wrong and it's getting good reviews across the board which is great news, going to pick it up at launch now.

Any opinions on Salt & Sanctuary? Thinking about picking it up on sale this week. I’m not the biggest DS fan but I do love side scrollers with good combat.

I bought it on PS4/Vita and steam. Couldn’t progress on my first character on PC and put it down. Was rolling around with no armour and a great sword, might’ve made the game unnecessarily difficult. Started 2nd run as a caster on Vita and lost interest.

It's definitely good so far but I can see myself getting frustrated with the lack of directions, just like in DS! Cool game though, love the art.

It actually becomes pretty easy to figure out where to go most of the time once you figure out where things are by exploration.

Aside from the fact that it looks phenomenal and wonderfully brutal, I have no clue what to make of that TLOU trailer. My guess is that it's a crumb they tossed to Paris while saving one more closely related to Joel/Ellie for PSX in December.

Looks like more Naughty Dog fluff to me.
