PS4/5 discussion thread - Page 11 - Video Games

Xbox one will require all games to undergo a 24h "verification check" ie: the system will connect to the internet and verify the game is an authentic version and if everything is clear will allow you to play the game. Regardless of whether you are going to play online or just single player story mode. If the system can't connect to the server for any reason the game will not load.

PS4 will do none of the above.

this is only good news if it's still possible to have 3 PSN accounts (EU, US, ASIA) on one console and DLs work for all accounts.
e.g. buy japanese game and download US or EU online pass and/or downloads. this is important because you can only access one of the three PSN stores, depending on you region).

yes of course, but you need to be able to access the online content as well.
it works on PS3, i own* many japanese and US games (living in europe).

* according to microsoft, i do not own these games. i own a licence to play them.

As for the PSN accounts, I did have a problem with a MW game, as the EU store only gave EU map packs. So I made a new US account, bought a US PSN card and downloaded to maps, then switched to my normal EU account and played the mappack normally.

The middle three seem very misleading given the online pass stuff I'm reading.
