Third person open-world action game, not necessarily unlike the slew of Assassin’s Creed style games out there but with a great main storyline and fairly unique gameplay/combat. Your primary enemies are different types of animatronic robots that you fight using mainly spears and arrows, which can be aimed precisely at different spots and structures on the robots. Basically you have to rip off their weapons and other body parts to beat them and then you use the spoils to craft upgrades to your weapons, but the crafting part is pretty light. The combat sounds tricky but its shockingly precise, and some of the battles with larger robots turn truly epic. It also looks fantastic on my non-HDR TV.

btw, looks like it's $16 (with an extra $4 off if you have PS plus, which I don't at the moment). Normally $20.

Sorry, i forget not everyone has PS+. Still a steal though, and the good news it's a single player game so PS+ not really needed.

What are people's experience with PS Now? It looks like a great deal with so many games available to stream. I am unsure what a "streaming" experience would be like. Have other people tried it and felt like it was a smooth experience?

Haven't used it myself but from reviews I've seen there are some problems w/ controller lag depending on your internet connect, tor the server demand on a specific game.

Destiny 2 sounds like a nice get but don’t you need the expansions to fully enjoy it?

There's lots to do before getting to expansions, at least 30 hours of pve content (and pvp doesn't matter about expansions, maps / events are free for everyone except in private matches) but yes this is a conveniently timed promotion giving it away for free on the eve of a hot new expansion launch. All "quality of life" updates are available to anyone expansion owners or not.

I’m back to no-life’ing The Division. Playing Destiny might kill me.

I'm probably the only person that didn't play it on a PC but Divinity: Original Sin 2 just got released on PS4.

Ok just played through the intro sequence and it was pretty sweet. How is the PvP in this game? I’m not really sure what the main draw (like what sets it apart from other FPS) is but I could see sinking some time into it in my ongoing quest to find games that keep my attention.

At the one end, what sets it apart is the gunplay / "feel" - it's one of the most satisfying FPS in which to simply shoot the baddies. Even if you've got nothing to do, it is always fun just to pop enemies with hand cannon headshots, for example. And the movement abilities / supers, depending on your chosen class.

At the other end, the raids. There's nothing like that in any other FPS, and they can be an incredible experience. Usually a mix between shooty-FPS and puzzle solving, a new big one comes out yearly (and sometimes smaller ones in between), team of 6 have to get as levelled up / geared up as possible before it opens, and then go and try to beat it! Ideally without having to resort to googling guides lol - and if it's a new one, there may not even be guides yet! As there's a new expansion just about to launch today, my focus is on the new raid which opens a week on Friday. Raids are far and away the best "mission" in the game, but not something to stress about at the start for sure. It can be crazy satisfying for a group of internet friends to fail, brainstorm, come up with a strategy, execute it perfectly-ish and it have it work!

PVP is in a good place at the moment. This varies depending on the buffs / nerfs Bungie chooses to make. It was pretty poor all year, since the launch of D2. D1 had some amazing PVP times, and D2 is now in a similar place hopefully after a recent round of massive buffs. The PVP provides another hook for the gameplay -> lootdrop loop, in that new loot can be appraised for both scenarios. It's very common a weapon may be bad in PVE but a beat in PVP, or vice versa. So it creates things like "play strikes to get the grasp of malok pulse rifle, a pvp monster" (that's a D1 example, but similar).

Not sure where this should go, but since it’s a licensed Playtation controller, this is the best place.

Scuf Vantage Controller

I order on June 13 and was expecting it in late August. Found out a couple days before it was supposed to ship that it would be delayed till late September. Finally got it today.

Was it worth the wait? I think so. Before even using it, it is easily the most comfortable controller I’ve ever held. I goofed around in Playgrounds mode in Fortnite to test it out and it felt great. Incredibly responsive and smooth.

My only issue with it, and this was known well before it was ordered, was the configuration is more XBox the PS4, which I don’t understand at all. But it’s not that difficult to get used to. It probably will be in tense fights but only for awhile.

It’s certainly a 9/10 product at the moment.

For $200 it had better be! Think I’d spend that on a PSPro first.

Pretty garbo PS+ lineup this month but meh last few months have been mostly good.

Scuf controllers are a bit pricey, but they're worth it. I have hand issues so the trigger system was the most important part for me, and the Scuf's help a lot with that. Even if I only used the left paddle (typically JUMP) it'd be worth it. Having 4 is overkill, but one on each side is a major step up, and the other 2 could be if I end up using them.

will be coming out for:

Detroit Become Human

AFAIK there hasn't been any DLC for God of War. Not sure about Detroit.

No DLC for Detroit either AFAIK.

God of War director said there were no plans for any DLC back when it launched: https://segmentnext.com/2018/04/25/n...-explains-why/

I'd say they are pretty safe bets to pick up the normal version of in the BF sales. I'm a big fan of both games too

Cool. I am going to pick up Detroit today i think since I am a Gamestop pro member and it is $20 for pro members today.

God of War can be had for $30 but it looks like it will be as low as $15/$20 on BF.
