Horizon New Dawn was on sale for like $30 on PS Store so I picked it up; I’m in the middle of a bunch of stuff but none of it is keeping my attention that well and it’s probably the game from this past year that I most want to try out.

Pay attention to the main story, it doesn't really get going right away but when it does it's great. Collectables often elaborate on it, usually when you're in a mission area. If you're a Dark Souls type at all, put it on Hard to make the vs machine combat much more engaging (sadly there's little can be done to improve the vs human combat).

i really wanted to love HZD, but the main combat wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe I was doing it wrong but I mostly felt like I was just fleeing in terror from anything that cottoned on to the meatwad plinking its health down from off in the distance.

dem machines get up in yo face way too much for me to fiddle around with placing traps and alternating weapons and whatnot

Are you referring to Vita only for Salt and Sanctuary? I saw it on the PS4 store for $17.99...I was debating getting it since I have nothing to play now.

I bought it on sale for PS4 a few weeks ago. It's pretty decent so far - I never love games where there seems to be no way to tell what the items do but I like the exploration and combat aspects.

Thanks man, I am a fan of the entire Souls series so I figured I would like it but was waiting until the price dropped.

Well I don’t know how the rest of the game is but the intro was ****ing awesome and it’s seriously the most beautiful thing I’ve had on my fake 4K TV.

Picked up Mad Max for $5 last week and finally got around to playing the 1st few hours today. I'm definitely enjoying the mix of car combat and the arkham/mordor melee combat so far. Not sure if it's still on sale or not but if so I highly recommend it for $5.

I'm late to the party with Ark: Survival Evolved. I see myself sinking an unhealthy amount of time into this.

Ark is great if you wanna spend your entire life in that world.

The perpetual world thing sounds great in theory, but once you realize that you need to have people from your tribe online 24/7 it gets annoying AF real quick after the 3rd or 4th time you finally get a decent base going or some good tames only to lose it all because the people in your tribe have things to do in the real world and the base was unoccupied when your neighboring tribe decides to raid you.

I'm not into the tribe thing. I just want to solo raid people and troll them.

It will be tough going, but have fun trying

The gamefly service itself is absolute trash, but if anyone is looking for some good deals on bestselling games from the past year their store has some pretty great deals on ps4 games and you don't need to be a subscriber to buy from them. Battlefield 1, Uncharted 4, Ghost Recon, Resident Evil, and Nioh are all available for $20 or less.

Ordered the Destiny 2 Special Edition Glacier White PS4 Pro from Amazon for $349: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-P...073RTKFY4?th=1

There are some good PSN sales, I'm going to buy Disney Afternoon Collection (dreamed of this happening for years) for $8 and Life is Strange full season for $5. Maaaybe the Borderlands Handsome Collection (2 and Pre-Sequel with all DLC) for $20.

Oh and I don't want Destiny 2. The current $27 Amazon sale on the game though might kill my market to sell it.

New Wolfenstein for $25 through Amazon. Don't know if it's digital or disc but that's a sick deal!!

Kingdom Hearts 1.5-2.5 HD Remix for $20 on Amazon and others (someone else may have started it and Amazon matched).

Last Guardian for $15 at I think Target; currently it's not being offered for sale direct by Amazon so they might be preparing the match (no clue how/if that happens, but KH was also temporarily not for sale earlier this morning before the price drop).

EDIT: LG out of stock from Target online. If I'm walking by the store maybe I'll go in and check, otherwise Amazon, otherwise just wait a year or whatever, no rush. Best Buy has it for $20.

SECOND EDIT: Meh, KH sold out on Amazon, should have bought it when I first put it in my cart.

THIRD EDIT: KH still available for $19.99 at Best Buy, ships free. Bought it. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/kingdom...?skuId=5698800

FOURTH EDIT: Two more PSAs - 1) PS Plus 12 months for $40 (from $60) at Amazon and maybe others. 2) Some Discover cards are 5% off Amazon and Target through the end of the year, so keep that in mind if applicable.

Amazon and the carrier marked PS4 as delivered, but I don't have it. Looks like this carrier is notorious for being awful, so we may be in for a big production now.

Well I finally beat Bloodborne and am contemplating grabbing a black friday deal for a new game. Things that popped out to me:
  • Madden 18 for $30 - liked Madden but haven't played since '06, no idea where the series stands and how much people like it these days
  • Nier Automata for $36 - I hear good things, but it has that flashy/Japanese style that doesn't do a lot for me, still open to it if everyone loves it
  • Dishonored 1/2 for $10-20 - heard good things in general, dunno about needing to play the first vs second or whatever
  • Various battlefield games for like $10 or less - loved BF 3 a few years ago, been kinda craving a military game but I suck at FPS and get frustrated with online fast

In general I like RPG character development type stuff, strategy, and stealth. Less emphasis on straight up action games.

Any recs on the above or other games I may have missed would be awesome!

I bought Dishonored 2 for $15 at Target, sounds like it would fit the bill for you though I haven’t played it yet. First one was excellent and I’ll be diving into this as soon as I finish HZD.

I have a PS4 with only one game, lol. The game is kicking my keister, lol. Fallout 4. I can't get past this one part, lol. At least I got out of the vault, lol.

Yeah Dishonored sounds kind of perfect for what you described you like. You should grab 1 and 2 if they're cheap, both are very good. Nier is still the best game to come out this year though.

Skyrim and Resident Evil 7. They did a really, really good job with both of these.

Try everything on both of the demo discs to see what you like. There are a lot of great demos there: RIGS, Battlezone, Raw Data, Rez Infinite, RE7, Until Dawn Rush of Blood, Job Simulator, Thumper.

Dirt Rally - best racing game
Statik - really clever and immersive puzzle game
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - amazing party game
Batman Arkham VR is a fun, short experience for people new to VR

I've heard good things about Farpoint and Superhot. I haven't tried them, though.

There's demos for both dishonored and nier actually, so I'll try those too to get an idea.

Is there story reasons to get Dh1 over Dh2? Or is Dh2 just better and I should just go for that one. I think the prices are $15 and $20 for 1 and 2 respectively.

The complete edition with both games and all DLC is $31.99 right now. https://store.playstation.com/en-us/...d=pa-st-111690

They're both fantastic games.
