I'd buy as many PS4s as you could. I don't think the issue will be a lack of demand or a surplus of retail supply but rather an enormous amount of people looking to flip them - a huge supply on the middleman market. It's going to send the prices on eBay and what not a lot closer to retail prices than they have been in the past. I doubt there will be many going for $xxxx but I imagine there will be tons going for $500-700.
I don't think there will be much demand for XBones. They had launch day special editions just sitting available on Amazon for weeks. Those got bought up after Microsoft rolled back some of the anti-consumer changes but I think that begs the question of how much of those were being bought up consumers who were won over by Microsoft's changes as opposed to scalpers who were expecting it to result in an increase in demand. Frankly I wouldn't even be surprised if a good chunk of the bones were being shipped to Redmond or if Microsoft scaled back Amazon's supply. I think it had to be fairly embarrassing for XBone marketing that the PS4 and a half dozen different generic SKUs were sitting there sold out while the "special exclusive XBox One limited launch day edition" sat available but unwanted.
