Maybe the sound gets wi-fied to the joypad for purposes of silent gaming! Ie, put headphones in joypad and experience the sounds in the game without waking everyone else up.

I must say, I still think the PS2 is the most beautiful game's console ever!

Look at the earphone, it's a headset. The blue thing between the single earplug and the clip is a mic.

The PS4 retail headset is a mono ear bud with an inline mic.

The superiority of Sony's naming convention for its PlayStation consoles can't be overstated.

Anyone not interested in any PS4 launch titles? Xbox has Ryse and Quantum Break(not sure if its a launch title) but PS3 will inevitably have more exclusives that interest me so I will be getting a Ps4 eventually

I wish Outlast, Evil Within, or Thief were ps4 launch titles.

PS4 also to reserve ~3GB of RAM for OS - wtf? Even more disappointing when you see the direction we're headed with TV hardware like the Google Chromecast, a $35 HDMI dongle that can stream video and apps from handheld devices over wifi, along with stuff like the mini-computers that run on USB sticks. I think we're going to be in for another long generation of PC games being held back by games initially designed for limited console hardware

Assuming the Chromecast doesn't also provide an interface for video games to run on complex hardware, there's a small difference in the requirements for that and a PS4 operating system.

I know the Chromecast in particular and stuff in the very near future won't compete with what the consoles will be able to do, but look how rapidly smart phones progressed in the last 3-4 years - they're almost as powerful as laptops. I expect we'll see thumb drive computers 3-4 years from now that will slay the consoles. And if not, we're still going to see wifi streaming from mobile and desktop devices offer a lot more flexibility and power for gaming and smart TV type stuff in the near future, and Microsoft Glass and the Vita seem way too closed off to ever offer much more than the basics. I just want a wifi dongle I can hook up to my TV that lets me control and stream XBMC, Firefox, VLC and Steam over wifi through my PC without having to deal with an HTPC.

Something that confuses me is how it wasn't immediately apparent that XBox One would end up abbreviated as XB1 which leads obviously to XBone. It doesn't seem like a big deal but on the other hand I can't imagine how many hundreds of millions were dumped to advertising/focus/PR/marketing groups and none thought having your console referred to as the XBone might not be the best thing.

what wrong with 'xbone'?

Bone means penis/use penis.

Still not seeing the problem.

I'm more likely to buy the xbone. I'm an immature 20-something male. Basically, the target audience

Another problem is that the first xbox already is the xbox 1

Naming your third console 1 is just ****ing ridiculous
