Definitely a good time and finally an online multiplayer game I’m not absolutely terrible at.

Thanks jawhoo for recommending Timespinner. I liked it. Shame that the freezing time mechanic wasn’t better utilized. At first it was useful to beat the first couple of bosses and for some platforming, but then it became optional at as the game progressed. Could have been much better, but it was alright.

I've had the PS5 for 2 weeks now and it's constantly disconnecting from the wifi. Anyone had this issue? Looks like there are some articles to troubleshoot this but its been a huge pain in the ass.

That sucks and is a huge reason why I never understood why people wanna be beta testers for next gen consoles.

I tried to search for solutions just now and people who had dual-band routers seemed to have this problem. They solved it by connecting to 5Ghz manually. If you have a dual-band router, this might help.

I switched my mobile hotspot to 5Ghz and I can actually play Rocket League now. I think there's just less people on it so it'll suck again soon.

I changed my Router to have separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network names, and manually set the 5 GHz one to a different channel - I want to say channel 32 or 36? Whichever the highest option is. I don't exactly know why, but that fixed a lot of my internet connectivity issues.

This is with Google Fiber 500 mbps connection in a semi-crowded apartment complex.

I’ve heard nothing but good stuff from friends. It’s on my list but I’m waiting until after E3 in hopes a new multiplayer game might be coming.

Any thoughts on the PS5 controller? First thing i checked after using it for a hour is if the PS4 controller worked with PS5. Feels like a cinderblock, very uncomfortable for longer periods using it.

No complaints for me, but I rarely go more than 40 minute sessions with a max of 90 minutes.

You can have any color you like, as long as it's white.

They are releasing black and red editions next month it just seems like a huge step down from the ergonomic design of the DS4. Hoping i get used to it or some good third party controllers are released.

My Scuf controller worked with the PS5 but with none of the bells and whistles. Hopefully they make a PS5 version of the Vantage controller. Battle Beaver makes a PS5 controller with buttons on the handles similar to the paddles on the Scufs. I thought about getting one but a friend got one and it barely lasted 2 weeks. The buttons, rather. The controller works fine as a regular one.

I think the PS5 controller is a huge upgrade over the PS4 in every regard. The active triggers and hd rumble are incredible when used well. The added heft makes it feel much more solid. Only issue is the official back button attachment no longer fits which absolutely sucks. Hopefully a new one comes out soon.

I use one of the new XBox Series series controllers pared with my phone and it works pretty well for CoD: Mobile. I have considered getting a PS5 controller to try that out, but have been waiting for more colors. I don't know why they chose the maroon-like shade of red that they did, but it looks kind of weird to me. Maybe in real life it looks better. Black seems like the obvious choice, so I am glad to see that they are finally releasing more colors.

This is a pretty niche discussion, but does anyone else have experience playing the same game with two different controllers? This could be playing on Steam or phone. I have big hands, so I like the idea of some extra heft to the controller - I would welcome the feeling that I am holding an important piece of equipment instead of something light which can feel flimsy.

Played Returnal on PS5 for a few weeks but later sold it back on eBay. There are a lot of things this game gets right. The rooms environments are creative, immersive and graphically well done. Gameplay mechanics move well with player control. It is certainly a fast pace, constantly run/shoot/dodge style 3rd person shooter game. The enemies are smart and aggressive. It is like taking Halo style enemies with shooting up game play of Doom Eternal.

Without giving much away in the game, the draw back is the game makes you pretty much reset all progress when you die. There are certain check points of the map in the game but it the constant dying and reset is why I sold the game. You can have a good solid 45-60min run of opening many map rooms, collecting weapons, getting your character upgraded, but one bad move when you are swarmed by enemies and you die with reset back to the beginning. I was interested in the game first play but the repetition just started to bore me out. The boss fights are very tricky and complicated to beat. Also I thought the overall plot of the game was kinda silly. Its a decent PS5 title but you will likely will not want to keep this game.

Is it possible yet for normal person to buy a PS five without having to join a bunch of mailing list and check inventory every day?

It’s certainly getting easier. A couple of friends got lucky recently. If you really want one, it wouldn’t be difficult.

If anyone has an old PS4 laying around collecting dust like mine was, Gamestop is offering $150/$120 store credit/cash on PS4s until at least black Friday.

Also $25/$20 on extra DualShock 4 controllers.

They were just doing 50% trade in value too for Pro members as well but it ended.

I have an old PS4 that doesn't work. There was a... soldering accident... on the main board so it's no good anymore.

Maybe I can get $20 for it. I think I'll keep it sitting around for another 6 or 7 years just in case.

Great game but I had to quit it. I was to close breaking my controller a few times.
