Afaik everyone sees the same spawns and there's no limit to how many people can catch a single spawn

yea me and my wife go out together and 95% of the time see and catch the same pokemon unless for some reason it disappears before one of us can get to it (had a teleporting Abra, it seems, one day)

You both get a copy to try and catch, there is no "stealing."

does attack power ever change? I noticed my duoduo has a higher attack than my trioduo. My duoduo has a lower CP though, but I can increase that on my duoduo through level ups

Just focus on evolving until you are a higher level. Powering up takes a lot of stardust, especially on high CP Pokemon. At this point, I would only power up if the CP was 1,000+

My 1000 cp arcanine got taken down in like 2 seconds. Holding a gym is impossible rn

well the reason I asked is because I have duplicates, and the ability to evolve, with the lower CP having higher attacks. So should I evolve the lower CP with higher attacks since CP can be increased with power ups, or should I just evolve the higher CP with lower attacks?

If you're under level 10, don't worry about either and just focus on evolving so you can level your character up. Once you're consistently seeing high level Pokemon in the wild, then you can start crafting your "favorites." Evolving changes movesets so don't think your moves will carry over.

At the moment, CP seems to be more important that special attacks. Those are really only worth it against opposing Pokemon types.

Btw, here's my new enforcer. He absolutely rips through gyms. Only powered him up once, definitely the highest CP I've seen in the wild.

Went to downtown Toronto and all the big landmarks have 1250cp beasts protecting them. Grumble. My area has posts every quarter mile or so while downtown had them every ten feet. City privilege. Struggling to get my dude over 500.

The beauty of gyms is that you can keep hammering away. Every little bit of prestige counts. The balance is very attacker oriented. So while it may look daunting, every gym is able to be taken. I don't think we'll see "fortified" gyms that are impossible to take.

Do eggs that take 5 or 10km to incubate produce better pokermon than 2km eggs?

Man this game is great.

Was visiting my parents for the weekend. My uncle's house is down the block and has a little fountain in front if it... which was made into a pokestop.

He was with us last night and said, "Have you noticed a ton of kids coming to the fountain in front of our house this weekend? It's really weird. They all have their phones out." I told him what it is, and now he yells "POKESTOP" at everyone he sees out there, haha.

My gf's apartment has a gym just steps away. Tomorrow will be my first time powering it up at work. I'm in downtown DC so I'm expecting great things.

Just caught a cp275 and thought I was cool, then read this thread .

Edit - sometimes my GF sees pokemon that I don't, despite us being in the same location. she's on iphone and im android. bug on my end?

I'm seeing lots of people walking around my neighborhood glued to their phones. I'm in an area where normally no one goes out walking, unless it's with their dogs, jogging, or olds from the senior center. This is pretty great.

I heard that it's best to power up and then once you power up to a certain point then you evolve, since evolve ~doubles the CP but powerup increases it by X amount which would be better before you evolve. Thoughts?

2) I still have no ****ing idea what I'm doing and would love any help that I could get.

From what I've seen, the CP bar stays about the same when you evolve. Regardless, the more you level up personally, the more you can power up a Pokemon.

Again, the closer to get to completing the CP arc, the more stardust it takes. I still think evolving first is a better play. Also remember evolving changes your moves, so I think it's better to wait. But hey, I'm just talking from my own experience, you should play your way!
