Catch EVERYTHING.

Keep in mind that evolving also gives you XP. I've level boosted so hard by evolving trash Pokemon. Currently level 16 and highest CP is 976 Pidgeot

dko, subscribed to that story

also, I've attempted to take a couple gyms and have beaten 2/3 pokemon which decreased its reputation a bit and gained me some xp, but KO'd 6 of my pokemon. Should you not attempt a Gym takeover unless you know you'll succeed? If so is there an easy way to tell? Also, even if you win and reduce its level is it not worth it unless there are other teammates in the area to finish it off?

You have to keep beating the gym until it turns white (neutral). Then, you can claim the gym. Once you've claimed a gym (or any gym of your team) you can train there to give the gym prestige and level it up.

Each level a gym has is how many Pokemon may guard it. You can only leave one Pokemon yourself per gym. You won't get the Pokemon back until the gym level has been defeated (and it will be at 1hp).

Edit: When attacking or training at a gym, the more Pokemon you defeat gives a bigger prestige bonus. You get a pretty big bonus for clearing

Pretty sure they have said that they'll add all the future gen pokemon eventually.

There's not much downside to losing a gym battle. Basically you just have to use a few potions on the pokemon that lost.

yea, I know all that.

What I'm asking is if I'm walking by and see a level 3 gym and know that I won't be able to kick all three pokemon out, is there a point in battling it?

If that's the case, great, but aren't potions hard to come by? iirc you get 10 by leveling and some chance of finding 1 at pokestops? Plus you have to use like 2-4 on each pokemon

Also everyone look down because I'm about to drop some knowledge

If you have android go download Google Opinion Rewards. Fill out quizzes every week or so and they give you play store money. Soon I'll have enough for the 550 bag of pokecoins.

You're welcome

The more you level up, the more powerful potions/balls spawn for you. Poke stops give a ****load of potions

Why? Did you at least get pikachu as your starter?

Nope... I choose charmander every time, just like in the other games in the past. I have no idea why I lost everything.

Did you use a different account? You may have just managed to "log on" when the servers were actually down.

Yeah, it feels like it's consistent gyms too. I don't know if it has to do with data connection, but there are 2 gyms I know of where it happens all the time.

Same. Walked almost a mile to get to one at 2 am and this happened.

You can keep trying though, I did manage to capture one of those 2 gyms I was talking about after about 5 tries. However, when I attempted to retake it today I kept getting the glitch.

Just took a walk tonight and there were like 5-6 young people who would never be outside all walking around together glued to their phones (I'm guessing Pokemon Go).

I listen to podcasts when I walk and when I switch to another and look at my screen for a few seconds, I lose my night vision and can't see where I am going. I predict stupid people accidents will be on the rise with this.

Joined the fray today. Very addicting. When I was eating at the Palms food court earlier, someone fired up 2 lure modules on 2 pokespots that are side by side there, and it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

When I'm evolving, should I just be picking the one with highest CP, or should I be factoring in their moves or something else as well?

Finding a **** ton of ratatas and zubats? And I usually waste about 5 balls getting those ***********.

Are the ones furthest down the pokedex the rarest?

I found an eevee and magmar. I'm assuing those are the rarest ones I've found. Also have exeggcute, cubone, krabby, ponyta. And managed to evolve a graveler, persian, golbat, arbok, and pidgeot. Not real sure how to tell what is rarest or most valuable, to be able to know where to focus my resources.

So, on a typical sunday I sleep until about 12 but this morning I was up at 8 because I wanted to go for a run and catch some POKEMANS before it got too hot. And I ran a longer distance than I usually do. I'm pretty sure that this game will increase life expectancy, despite all the traffic accidents that it is going to cause.

If anyone knows how to improve the way the game tracks your movement I'm interested. My eggs hatch way slower than they should (they registered less than half the distance I traveled). Also, I spent a lot of time trying to interact with a gym because my position kept jumping around it. It was in an area with a lot of trees and maybe my phone (a LG G2) has a terrible GPS, I'm not sure.

A little FYI...

If you activate "power saving mode" under settings, when you turn your phone upside-down, the game will go in a low power mode but still remain active for walking eggs or detecting nearby pokemon.
