Just send a ton of them away and save the candy for later, evolving does not create room.

Oh ****, yeah, I don't know why I had a brain block on that.

Yeah, I'll probably just transfer a ton of them, using that calculator as a guide.

Thanks, guys, for banging that knowledge into my brain. Listening to Melania Trump has made me dumb, apparently.

Don't really need a calculator for Pidgey

It effectively costs 10 candy each to evolve lol

Is there even any point throwing pokeballs at any with a red ring? Found a clefable today when out walking but the target ring was red and every time I got it into a ball it bust out then after 4 goes it fled.

Other than that had a fairly good haul, 5 magikarp, 3 Psyduck, 3 Hitmonchan, Starmee, geodude, slowpoke and a bunch of others.

Also there was a gym and 2 pokestops by the lake I usually go round for my run that weren't there last time I visited a few days ago has anyone else noticed any new ones? Hope it means they are adding more to more rural areas.

Is there anything you can do to increase your chances of keeping them or is it luck? I have had a few orange ones that bust out once or twice but then eventually stick. This clefable was having none of it though.

I might go back to the same spot later and have another crack.

Level 8 and now I'm out of pokeballs. Not really in the mood of walking to a pokestop 1km away every day and sit there for an hour when others can farm from home

yeah im made

Not sure what to do with pokecoins.
A backpack extension? Permanent improvement but possibly useless if you manage your bag well.
An incubator to get better pokemon once you stop focusing on leveling? Possibly good but it really depends on how common 10km eggs are.

It could be a bug/not receiving data from the server. Sometimes I have to restart the game to see stuff on the map.

Berries and better balls. I've also read that good or spin throws increase your chances but I'm not sure if it has been confirmed.

True. Seemed like a nice, handy, little tool anyway.

This is the first Pokemon game I've ever played.

I'm at level 9 now but lost out on a lot of opportunities to do stuff when I was in DC last week due to a combination of ignorance and a desire to conserve battery life. Ah well.

Exactly what are the benefits to fighting in the gyms? I've literally never fought with Pokemon before so I'm pretty clueless as to how even the basic mechanics work. Basically I just walk around catching them but other than picking a team have basically ignored the gyms.

the benefits to fighting gyms are the coins you earn for taking over/holding them, which you can use to buy stuff in the store

dunno about the fighting mechanics because i'm yet to gym battle. all i know is that it's different to all the other pokemon games

Gyms are mostly a pride game. It's fun if your local group is social.

I have thrown out like 200 pokeballs. I live in an area with pokestops every other 10 feet so they are useless to me

You probably need to use a Razz Berry to catch a red one. Probably also need either at least a Great Ball or a "Great" throw with a normal Pokeball.

Might be able to catch with an "Excellent" throw and a bunch of luck.
