It's gonna be fun laughing at the NERDS playing Harry Potter when I'm out catching Pidgeys and Rattatas.

Guh, this thread went and died (I'm partly to blame I guess, been too busy playing to post anything). I'm here to use a revive I guess.

So yeah, I went and go significantly more hardcore about this game weirdly. I'm at like 125+ million XP and I oscillate between 6 million and 7.5 million dust. My wife and I make it a sport to short-man anything we can (so we have 2-manned Azelf, Kyogre, Groudon, Giratina-O, Heatran, Ho-Oh, etc). I even managed to solo a Tyranitar before they boosted the HP stat on raid bosses. My son even managed to make it to level 40. I have 10 maxed out (L40) Blissey and a wide assortment of also-ran defenders that are L40 (multiple Snorlax, Chansey, Gardevoir, etc).

Also, my wife and I both changed teams to Instinct, mostly on account of a lost bet with my son (who has always been Instinct). My wife (formerly Valor) has hated the transition, but I'm pretty indifferent to it (formerly Mystic). I do enjoy that we can gym more easily together now. She also maxed out 10 Blissey so that we can take 20 gyms at a time and defend them properly should we feel the need. We raid enough that we always have as many as 200 to 300+ Golden berries so we can waste people's time really well.

So yeah, still having fun with the game and still playing a great deal.

I’m still playing everyday. Crossed L40 x3 not long ago and had my dex complete until they released the lake trio.

Ive been playing since November, just hit lvl 40 last month. I caught a boatload of slakoth today, over 1500 candy earned. Didn't have any slaking previously so looking forward to getting a few for a gym defend crew.over the past month my raiding slowed heavily due to less 'meta relevant' raid bosses

Pretty solid day of poke-ing today. Caught a shiny lileep, shiny Cresselia, and shiny slakoth obv, plus upgrades. I'm 40, but I am nowhere near 40 twice I don't think.

Been very very casual since the whole raid madness came around (i think i was level 36 before raids and am still only level 39 today) but I'm a little bit questioning how easy and available Niantic has been making it for everybody to get strong pokemon's.

It used to be a huge differential if you had a strong snorlax, that gave you a real competitive advantage in gyms that could be correlated with coin collecting but now you have events where you can easily catch 100 >2k snorlax's in 5 days by just turning your phone on for your daily walk.

Think Niantic has been doing an awesome job especially since I remember how it was at the very beginning getting both the casual's and the grinder's something to get interest in

Get that friend quest done promptly. The reward is a feebas, which may have a boosted shiny probability (I got a shiny). You'll need to walk a feebas for step 2, so you want to get that going on your favorite feebas asap.

Went hard all month chasing shiny Ray Ray (by my standards, not by hardcore player standards: something like 30ish raids, wasted a couple-few free passes, spent some premiums). MrsWookie finally got one for me while I was tending to the little Wookies in the car yesterday, yes! Well, today I wanted to try to pay her back while she and the girls were taking their naps. Found a tidy three-pack of raids downtown, and I figured any shiny on either account could be hers by way of trade if necessary. Binked a 15/14/14 shiny on her account on raid 3/3.

Switching the league from Great to Ultra is terrible. It goes from fun, accessible, and diverse, to the sport of kings. There are a pretty modest number of dominant critters, most of which are legendary, ~all of which require two moves to be competitive. We're talking like 400ish rare candy and a half a million dust just to be decent (unless you've done so many of the right kinds of legendary raids that the rare candy cost is payable anyway; who knew when Registeel was first in raids that it'd be a sensation in pvp?), and then since it's virtually certain that master league is next, you know you have to spend that all over again and then some.
