Wookie, you interested in an EX raid in Ballston (Arlington) on Monday the 22nd at 5pm? It's my first ex raid invite, but I'll most likely be out of town. I don't have many locals on my Ultra Friends list but want to invite someone so that it's not a wasted opportunity
Halloween event is out! And a new raid boss Giratina! Can't wait to catch it and put it in my Pokedex. Do you guys know if Giratina is any good? And also would you like to exchange trainer codes? I could use some extra friends in my friend list
I can't wait for Haloween event. I heard that it's going to be epic. But rumor has spread that all the goodies gonna be launched after midnight, when everybody sleeps, and of course because it is Haloween, night time is more scary than day.
For people that don't know about the newish Adventure Mode feature added to Pokemon Go:
I would recommend everyone to turn on the switch under settings. Especially if you have a smartwatch/fitbit. It uses GoogleFit/Apple Health to measure your steps.
So you no longer need to be running Pokemon Go or even have your phone with you to get credit for walking buddies and eggs.
Gonna open your gift tomorrow to hit ultra. Have a few others lined up so gonna pop a lucky egg. Hoping to do it around lunch time EST, can post here before I do if you're trying to use a lucky egg too
Anyone out there looking to get started or get back into it, there is elite pokemoning to be had out there through 11 pm PT Sunday. You'll be swimming in valuable critters, and if you get enough to evolve, they'll have special moves that are otherwise unobtainable.
Priorities:
1. Beldum. Get 124+ candies to evolve a Metagross with meteor mash. With that move, it's one of the best critters in the game of any type, and it's better than even future legendary steel types as they stand now.
2. Larvitar. Tyrannitar with smack down is an elite rock attacker, although its distance over second place is diminished with the release of Rhyperior. Also, upcoming future releases may beat its DPS, but ttar has great bulk. Better still, raiding Ttars right now gives you a ttar with smack down without having to spend the candy to evolve.
3. Bulbasaur. Despite its modest stats, evolving a venusaur right now will give it frenzy plant, the best grass type attack in the game.
4. Charmander. Same as above, but with blast burn, elite fire attack. Also, it's one of the best looking shinies in the game.
5. Dratini. The special move is nothing special here, and Dragonites are somewhat outclassed by current and future legendaries, but it's still a great critter.
The other boosted critters have special moves but aren't all that relevant due to being outclassed.
Shiny rates may be boosted relative to the baseline ~1/450, but they don't seem to be all that close to the usual community day of ~1/25
I've heard that Beldum and Larvitar and Dratini are all top tier and Charmander and Bulba are a tier below. I've been using my pinaps or the first 3. I don't have any of them though so its all gravy. I'm just going to try to evolve 1 of all the ones that have good CD moves.
One thing i'm struggling with is whether to prioritize high CP, high IV, or lucky ones. I'm thinking lucky ones, higher CP the better. The lucky ones i get from trading yesterday all have over 80% IV so that seems good enough for me. Hard part is whether to know to evolve a level 15 lucky vs a level 25 nonlucky, for example
