I am sorta interested in Porygon and Magneton raids (steel badge FTW). Also glad about the ones that are staying, as I would love to get better Gengar/Machamp/Tyranitar. My wife and I will start prepping to duo Tyranitar because we want more Ttar and because it is getting harder to get people together for these raids. I'm also going to explore how duoable Golem is because I sorta want a 100 IV to match my wife's.

Also, I have three Mewtwo now and all of them have perfect attack (IV's of 100, 78, and 84 respectively). I went ahead and triple-tapped my 100 IV to L40 so that I could have the strongest pokemon in the world (well, tied for strongest at least).

Is anyone else trying to get all the different types of hidden power for their Suicune? So far I'm only missing the following: grass, dark, poison, and steel.

Also, my two best Suicune thus far:

I love the hidden power coverage on these two as well, with my hundo being fighting (if they fix the stats, this might be a good Tyranitar counter) and my 98 being water (so getting STAB).

man this game has gotten stale. I'm level 37, would like to get to 40 just to say I "beat it", but it's such a grind and I hardly ever feel like playing.

There was a moment at the end of level 36 or so where I was feeling the grind of it just a bit. I wasn't even halfway through the game and it just felt like it would be forever.

This was right at the time of the Fire & Ice event. Because of the huge XP gains for that event (along with the discounted lucky eggs) and the fact that I teach (so I had just gotten off for the summer), I think I went up well over 2 million XP in a week and basically leapt right past level 37 and into level 38, which sorta reignited my interest.

Further, this was right around the time that I sorta finally integrated with the local Pogo community. Up until this point my wife and I just basically played by ourselves and occasionally with family when out of town. I finally went on the radar of a ton of other players due to raids and them finally putting a name to a face. Since then, the community aspect has also kept me much more involved. Well that and the fact that I am only just over 2 million XP away from L40 now.

My guess, for what it is worth, is that there will be a double stardust/double XP event similar to last year during Thanksgiving, along with some legendary tie-in maybe. That might help you move the needle into L38, which is effectively where stuff ends (for instance, you can get your pokes to L40 at that point via triple-tapping).

This is where im at right now. I still get the streaks but not sure why at this point. I do think itd be cool to get to level 40 but its so far away even though its less than 3 levels away. Not sure if gen 3 will reignite this game for me.

I prefer to press all three buttons as close to the same time as possible and not sequentially like they did in the video. But yeah, usually if you power up to L39, the power-up button disappears and you are stuck. The trick is to get your poke to L38.5 and then do the glitch in the video to get your poke to L40 by basically sending all three power-up messages near-simultaneously before the power-up button disappears from your info screen.

The trick was a must for me since I wanted my 100 IV Mewtwo to reach the absolute pinnacle of strength for the game.

Just for the record, triple-tapping used to mean exploiting the bug where you could click the power-up confirmation dialog with three fingers on a single device, but that was fixed quite some time ago already.

I am also doing occasionally the 3-device power-ups too now that I reached level 38 some time ago. Hopefully Niantic fixes the max. level bug soon, it's ridiculous it has gone almost 1.5 years unfixed.

They halfway fixed it for a minute on a version they only released for soak-test (https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/ver-update-110117). The problem was it was still bugged pretty badly (on this and other things) so they rescinded it and iterated over the previous release. It only allowed you to get up to L39.5 before the power-up button disappeared, so we were still missing that half-level.

It was a good release for me though because my wife had topped off a 96IV Dragonite before realizing she couldn't ever power it up again past L39. I was able to side-load the update on to both of our phones and do a double-device power-up for her, which finally allowed her to max her Dragon out.

Trainers,

Ever since Pokémon GO launched, we've loved hearing stories of Trainers venturing abroad and playing together with new friends from different countries. That's what inspired us to create Pokémon GO Travel, a new video series to see the world through the eyes of a Pokémon Trainer. To kick things off, Pokémon GO Travel is taking a diverse group of Trainers from around the world to Japan to host our first-ever Global Catch Challenge.

Join us as we discover new places, meet new people, and work together in an attempt to catch 3 billion Pokémon in just 7 days. Play along with IHasCupquake, Coisa de Nerd, and Rachel Quirico as they learn more about Japanese culture, inspire the world to play together, and update you on the amazing rewards the community unlocks along the way.

First level should be accomplished relatively easy. I would be surprised if we aren't into double XP by Tuesday morning. After that I will ramp up my play because I want that double XP. Two days of modest play at double XP should push me into Level 40. After that, I will keep helping to get that dust and Farfetched.

Ugh. Fired this **** up for thirty seconds, same old trash.

I just can't do it. I bombed hard after the summer event and haven't touched it. The news that Niantic is doing Harry Potter **** is not inspiring. I was hoping the app would evolve into something better, but they're clearly happy with the stale cycle they've set up.

Great news. Never have been invited. Nearly lvl 35 and I raid regularly with others. Most of the other have been invited but also only once. Our city isn't that big. Really annoying when I see that some people already have like 3 Mewtoos..

New version out now/soon. Maxing out Pokemon finally possible. Interestingly I could power up my level 39.5 Dnite to 40 although I'm only level 38. Knowing Niantic, It's always possible that the player level + 1.5 was a bug since the game launched as the server-side limit has apparently always been player level + 2.
