Can someone give me the 101 on Evee evelutions?

I got about 60 Evee candy and about 10 Evees.

How do I pick the ones to evolve?

The naming thing, how does it work?

Change the name of the Eevee before evolving it

Pyro -> Flareon
Sparky -> Jolteon
Rainer -> Vaporeon

works once for each evolution

Is there one of these that's better / preferred? (Vaporeon maybe?). Or is that just helpful to ensure that you get one of each for your Pokedex?

Yeah in terms of CP multiplier its Vaporeon > Flareon > Jolteon

do you hatch many eggs in general or do you usually have a full bag with 9/9 eggs and just one incubator going? i think the the drop rate for the 10k eggs is 5%

I've used the free incubators from level up rewards but never bought any. Also, I've had three now that I remember a scyther I got long ago. The game says I've walked 230km and hatched 75 eggs since I started playing.

am I just a fish, or is Hurricane harder to dodge than a lot of other charge moves? I have trouble leveling up gyms where the lowest pokemon is a ~1000 CP Pidgeot, because it's hard for me to beat it with something below it, and pokemon above it barely get any prestige.

If you only attack enemy gyms, you don't often need to dodge.

If you're building up friendly gyms, it becomes very useful, because the lower CP you have vs the friendly defender, the quicker you build it up.

So, for example, someone leaves a 1000CP vaporeon in a friendly gym, and I want to level it up. The fastest ones are my 700CP oddish or bellsprouts, who have very low HP and need to dodge to be able to beat it, but successfully build it up faster than any other method.

Today's outing already a success, though I'll stay a few more hours.

Finished my Dragonite, Venosaur, and Golem, and caught an Omastar. 133 on the dex. I'm hoping to finish Machamp today as well, and I'm still waiting for a Kabuto to spawn.

Kabutops spawned just as I was leaving.

I now have only four remaining mons to evolve (Charizard, Muk, Gengar, and Alakazam), and three to either catch or hatch (Hitmonlee, Lapras, Aerodactyl). Decent hatches today, except my only 10k was a Scyther. Slammed my knee into a concrete bench. The usual.

Apparently the new update will block play from anyone with a rooted phone. There are workarounds but I don't feel like jumping through all those hoops. Way to go, Niantic - time to uninstall
