well, I dont work or live next to any.

i drive by two on my commute but can only get them if the light is red. any others I have to walk ten minutes down a trail to get to one, and there is a cluster of about five two miles away.

also, over the past two days i have gotten more phone numbers from this game than tinder. met two girls at the mall today, and one came with me to capture a gym at an intersection near it. she says she farms the same areas as me so we are planning to take over some stuff together tomorrow. what a time to be alive.

That's ****ing phenomenal. Yet another amazing feature of the game.

I'm reading stories all over the internet of:
-Young kids actually wanting to leave the house with their parents
-Relationships being reinvigorated
-Unhealthy/inactive people turning their lives around
-Bringing together new relationships

Nice. I have a gf already, but she doesn't like me playing videogames (Pokémon or not). I'm sold!

My pokedex is at 52, anyone beating that yet

I have been in exactly one area the whole time too so i dont think location matters that much

I think location matters. My house is all low level crap but I went to a popular park downtown and the spawns were totally different.

I think you can find almost anything anywhere, but every place will have different pokemon that are more common than others

Downtown Manhattan has flower petals almost every block. That means someone put some kind of module to attract a specific type of Pokémon

Servers down. Didn't recognize me when opening app. Asked to register, then nothing... anyone else experiencing this? Please tell me I didn't lose everything!? :banghead:

Working fine for me (APK in Canada). But they've been on and off all day. It's expected with the rest of the world running on US' servers

We installed and played today as a family until the phone went dead lol.

Seriously though, this game is something that we can get behind, as active parents. Our kids are fairly active compared to their peer group, but still love to sit behind their tablets for hours if they can get away with it. With Pokemon Go, they are sitting here asking when the phone will charged enough to go for a walk

We've got a couple Pokestop's within a couple blocks of the house. And a Gym that's in a construction zone that we plan on taking over as soon as we hit level 5.

I've never played a Pokemon game in my life, but downloaded this because it seemed interesting. Haven't found any of the Pokemon by my house, but there are two gyms within just a few blocks (one is literally as gym - a YMCA). Was out with the family at a Main Event entertainment center killing time before a movie and found a few.

Haven't gotten it to work yet with the phone's camera. Every time I use that feature to capture a Pokemon, the little guy never shows up. I'm wondering if I just wasn't close enough, even though when I switch to the non-camera view, I can get him.

Phone needs to have a working gyroscope for that. Mines busted and thus I can't do that

I was working today and had a kid flag me down. He said he was out walking around playing Pokemon and found a stray cat. The first thing I thought was how he found a real Pokemon, but I couldn't get the words out to make the joke. The server was down when he tried to show me how it worked. I saw him a few minutes later walking around a church property.

Then, walking up the street, I see a guy and girl holding hands with their phones out. I assume they were playing as well.

If you wanna fight prepare to be disappointed, games not really about that. If I ever get all 150 I don't know what I'll do though

also TIL you can get coins by having a pokemon in a gym that's been held for 21 hours. 10 each up to 100 a day. no small feat though. I took out a lvl 4 gym by myself and no less than 5 mins later it got recapped and pushed up to level 3. considered recapping and leaving my 900ish arcanine there because i havent seen much that can beat that, but I had to go to work.

i just evolved an abra and kadabra's abilities are pretty nice. he has a 15 dmg basic psychic attack and mine had shadowball. there are abras everywhere where I work and alakazam is my #1 favorite next to Zapdos so I'm gonna try to get one this week.

I was pretty big into pokemon when it first came out. Caught them all and leveled like 40 or 50 to 100. If the fighting sucks then i cant see myself caring about swiping a ball

I would have to believe that at some point the fighting will evolve. The game can only stay interesting for so long without it. They need to introduce a combat system that keeps it interesting, yet keeps the newbies involved, at some point.
