I run pubg at highest setting on a 4K monitor with only a moderately strong rig
And get 45 FPS?
I get between 60 and 110 on 1440p with most of the settings on low (though a lot of the graphics settings don't impact FPS much) on a pretty strong rig, but it still feels so bad compared to other games. Going to 1080p boosts my frames maybe 10-20... but 1440p makes it much easier to spot people. so I usually deal with slightly lower FPS.
I guess the more I play, the better I get at both spotting people, and using long distance weapons. I also have no patience to prone, which is really the play in fog games.
If I could perma ban that mode I would. If I get it in solo games I just quit.
I think my preference for fog is that non-fog games all too often feel like whoever won the scope/suppressed SR lottery has an insane edge.
When I first started suppressors felt super OP to me, but now I'm almost always able to immediately figure out the direction they come from. I think they're a lot stronger in fog games than non fog games. In non fog games I often choose a compensator over a suppressor (on every rifle but the M16 usually).
Its had cheaters before I'm pretty confident. Was driving one time and me and another guy both at same time got shot in the head driving full speed and were bleeding out exactly side by side from the car.
I havent blatently seen any, but Im sure there are tons.
In DayZ one time, a hacker gave me options I guess he had at all times (no idea how it worked), but it was crazy the **** you could do, it was super easy to kill other people with out them being able to tell you were cheating.
I dunno if its the same in PUBG, but I suspect it is. Would basically be like seeing hole cards, if you want to be stupid about it you can make it obvious (like the guy in that video), otherwise it would be incredibly easy to make use of it without anyone knowing.
Yeah there's plenty of subtle ways to cheat. The hacks have ESP, so you can see where vehicles and items are... a simple way to have a big edge every game is insta drop to a vehicle so you can be fastest to military/any other high loot, and then just run to an AR+ the highest tier armor near you.
No speedhacks/aimbotting necessary.
Also I just won back to back solo FPP games. Doubt that's gonna happen to me again for a while.
