Really surprised this game doesn't have more traction here. As others have said, it's the game of the future!

This would be the worst imo. It's defo frustrating and annoying when you get finished off but I think that's the beauty of it, makes it way more tense and competitive.

Anytime I get knocked out I just spam think to myself "plz dont kill me, plz dont kill me, plz don'... FFS he killed me" lol. Annoying but I wouldn't change it at all.

I actually think if you down someone with a headshot they should go down permanently.

They've got a lot of work to do. The gameplay is really poorly designed. The gameplay feels like a mod server run by a 14 year old who implemented all the wrong settings and because of that you end up with a game where nothing happens for 20+ minutes.

They need to change it from feeling like a mod server admin just smashed buttons to a good mod where the admin put some thought into how the game should play.

How there is no reward(gun, armor, etc) for killing someone really baffles me. Its so ****ing obvious this game needs that.

The reward is you get to loot their body. If you don't want to do that then gun fights are fairly easy to avoid.

I like how you have the option to play aggro and kill everyone you come across or play more strategically and avoid fights unless you either have to engage or you have such an advantage it would be silly not to.

Tons of stuff happens once you get a feel for where people will be/stop dropping in isolated places. After 120 hours I have a good sense of where there will be a lot of people rotating based on circle/the direction of plane (worth remembering). You can land somewhere with some action, then rotate somewhere with more, etc..

You get a ton of loot for killing people. If you have 8 kills in a game, you will almost always have a pretty kitted out pair of guns with lots of healing, all you need.

I think it'll be good when they release some new maps. Hopefully they have a smaller one that has more concentrated loot/circles for slightly faster games... but I really love this game. If I get tilted, I just stop playing for a few hours for the day, and keep enjoying it when I come back fresh.

I mainly play CSGO, but Valve has let the game get stale. Will this run decent on a 4790k/970?

Also chances I make the money back I paid for game in skins? 😁

not sure about the specs but my computer runs it semi decent @1080p on low settings .... you have to remember though this game is still in the early stages. They need to optimize it a little more.

And yes the game will pay for itself over time. The invitational crates were going for £2+ I sold like 10... You can only buy 6 a week with the in game currency and the more you buy the more expensive it gets. The invitational crates are gone now but I'm sure they'll release more crates soon.

Really wish there was a tutorial or sandbox mode for this game. I can't even get started learning the basics and end up getting frustrated and quitting.

the best way to learn is to play and lose.

God damn this game is awesome. I suck at it (only played 3rd person) but I love it.

Part of what has me so optimistic is how far the game has come in such a short time and how great the devs have been at addressing the main issues the community has with the game. A game like this is all about how the dev responds to the community, and they are doing a great job of that.

Not sure on the specs but you can def make the money back in skins. I've played a **** ton of hours so maxed out on crates, but I'm ~+$50 so far.

And, importantly, to drop in active spots where you can get some easy combat experience. I think this has been said ITT before, so I won't belabor the point, but you don't learn very quickly if you just loot for 20 minutes and then die because you can't aim/identify where shots are coming from.

Game is super fun and that's despite the shooting mechanics being among the worst I've ever experienced in gaming on any platform.

My god they are terrible.

The more I play/understand the guns, the more I feel like the gunplay is decent. The peek mechanics are super important, albeit awkward coming from a lot of other games. I think a bigger issue is that it's hard to get high FPS in this game, which just makes it feel laggy relative to a lot of other FPS games.

Why? Cause of having to lead shots and bullet drop?

Got two duo FPP wins in 8 games this afternoon, with 10/6 kills. Getting way more confident in end game decision making. Fun.

My buddy from the Dayz days has got his own Twitch channel:

https://www.twitch.tv/olemanswag

I'm promoting it because he's ranked 2nd in North America for Duo and only gets 15 or so people at a time watching. Maybe it has to do with the chewing tobacco...

I'll check out his channel. I'm following most of the best players on Twitch. Ninja, Shroud, TSM Viss, Grimmz are the best players I've seen

I suck and am still winless. Solo stopped being fun since I have to play with most people better than me now. Making way too many mistakes in squad play is my biggest problem atm though :/.

Thinking about trying to get into this game. Would people recommend starting FPS or 3rd person?
Playerunknown Battlegrounds Quote

Depends on your skill level and previous experience with FPS. If you think you've got pretty good aim, you'll be better off in first person, then once you learn the maps you can go to TPP. If your aim is gonna be subpar, you'll be better off in third person where you can peak corners and create more advantageous encounters for yourself. Others may disagree though.

I tolerated 3rd person when I bought the game because it was still fun, but FPP is 100x better in my opinion. Being able to free look around trees in third person means you get shot in the back by random campers soooooo much more often, and that's a really frustrating part of this game. FPP nerfs proning/camping players, and makes the game feel way less random.

I haven't played a single game of 3rd person since FPP came out.

I bought the game a couple of months ago but didn't put any time into it until this week, really enjoying it as a changeup from CSGO. When I tried originally I hated that you had to play 3rd person to be competitive, FPP makes it a lot more fun.
