Next time a teammate stares at me ominously without moving during clear looting phases early in the game I'm shooting them in the face.

I haven't really played with randoms other than when we have a team of 3 and just take a random 4th to act as a bullet sponge. More often than not they just get us killed.

First person only mode coming in next update. I'm not sure how it will play out but I'm definitely excited to try it.

How do people feel about the use of vehicles, especially in solo matches? My instincts tell me they are loud and give your position away, but on the other hand, most of my deaths involve getting shot from some random location and cars significantly reduce the risk of getting randomly killed while moving.

As an experiment I played a game "Mad Max" style. Essentially, I drove around running down people with a UAZ (2 kills), T-boning or using the PIT maneuver on other cars (5 kills, collisions with other cars don't seem to injure you much, if at all), and/or using the vehicle to quickly close on someone (2 kills). Bonus points: 2 people were teamed up in a solo in one car; got them both.

ugh just feels so ****ty when you loot for 5 minutes then the motorcycle you were riding in order to get back in the circle takes a slight bump and instantly kills you.

The invisible bumps are absurd in this game. Like I get why they're in there but you'd think they could be a little more noticable.

Thoughts on first person?

After playing it, third person feels so awkward and clunky. First person definitely the future of this game and makes it way better - and I LOVE this game in third person.

I've only played first-person since it came out. So much better.

I'd like to say that first person rewards a truer/more traditional skill set: situational awareness, positioning, and aim, whereas third person heavily rewards effective use of the third-person camera.

In reality, I'm way too lazy to abuse the camera, i.e., I could hold alt while running through a field and look all around me constantly but it makes me dizzy and IDGAF so whatevs. So I think I like first person because I don't get punished so much for being a lazy ****.

I'm too ADHD to be great at 3rd person. It's way less scary in first person to clear things because you're not going to get peeked by some camper the second you turn around. You can be in the open, willing to take fights and not be punished by proners.

It's great.

I did this and the game felt a lot smoother could be just me though. If you follow everything this will reset key binds.

Kinda addicted to the game now

1st person is so much better than 3rd imo

Just got this, got good advice to just get into shootouts in the bigger areas early and learn how to handle those rather than trying to hide/win early so I don't get bumped up in competition too soon.

It took years for the fish to exit online poker, and this is just a $30 game. People gonna suck and play this for quite some time, especially with the die quick and get into another game quickly aspect of it.

I just had a fun game

Looted a few houses, then went into another house, went to the second floor, looked out the window, then seemed to be trapped between a chair and the window, for the rest of the game I couldn't move no matter what I tried. I was just stuck. I used all the meds I had picked up and finished 13th before dying outside the playzone. Fun game.

I had something similar where I got stuck on one of those giant rocks on a hill near Mylta Power. There was no hole or anything, I was just stuck. I spent 10 minutes trying every combo of jumping, crouching and sprinting until I finally got free. Fortunately the circle stayed on me. EA problems lol.

Teammate and I both got stuck in a cliff rock heading down the hill. Pro tip: you cannot unstick yourself with a frag grenade.

Goddamn I know I'm terrible at this game, I know that, but it really makes me want to never play this game again when I spend 15 minutes looting to get one shot by a sniper from somewhere I have no idea when I'm appoaching the top 10 having not encountered a single person before then

This is why I always land in school/military base these days. I always have 3+ kills and a bit of loot, and feel less annoyed if I get shot randomly later in the game.

Yep. This, and play in first person mode. Much harder for people to just camp and snipe.

Ya in first person I hardly ever get sniped from nowhere. It was super frustrating in third.

Is it just me that thinks the following...

When your in Duo's or Team and one of your team gets knocked out, Personally I think the other team/s shouldn't be able to continue to shoot and end up killing him. I think he should either get revived or end up bleeding out.

I don't really know what this would actually do to gun fights and how people go about them, Just seems petty to continue shooting a down gun and super annoying when you land some place and 1 of your team just instant dies making you to keep backing out the game.

I much prefer Duo's over team just because of this, Some of the people I play with in team though can be dumb and take fights they shouldn't take and land not close enough to the rest of the team.

Aside from being game-breakingly unrealistic, it would be really obnoxious to not be able to kill and forget about players. And the down-but-not-out system is already really strong; I think you should view it as a luxury that getting headshotted doesn't kill you permanently.

Yeah, it's annoying when someone finishes you off when it is clearly in both of your interests for them to fight your teammates, but that's unavoidable.
