...how is it compared to H1Z1?

I have never played h1z1 etc.. this is the first battle royale type game that I've played (mostly CSGO before that).

But from friends who have played those games, they consider PUBG to have the perfect balance of dayz and h1z1 (dayz apparently being quite slow but h1z1 being quite arcadey?).

yeah havent played h1z1 either but the main thing that kept coming back was how you could do more unrealistic stuff in h1z1 like jump out of moving cars and not sustain damage. i've managed to kill myself around 5 times just by jumping out of moving cars and getting ran over by the car. feels bad man.

main thing with this game in the future is do they pivot to 1st person or keep the 3rd person. game dynamic for better or worse is just a lot different in the 3rd person environment. so easy to camp behind trees in endgame and 1st person would force you to peek a lot more.

The game is just ridiculously fun and addictive. I've put 100+ hours into it super quick which is the most I've probably done in a couple of years.

I enjoy reading the subreddit for it a lot as the game can get pretty creative and there's a lot of cool **** on there!

Really enjoying this game as well lately. Played h1z1 for probably 30-50 hrs but never got super into it. Used to play a LOT of csgo , loving the 'realistic' gameplay and tactics / not have to worry about someone jumping out of a vehicle at 130km/hr and two tapping you

If anyone is looking for some duo's send me a msg I'll usually be down to play!

I enjoyed those videos. Unfortunately, the common threads are broken game physics, and killing sprees. The first will be fixed, and as for the second, how often do you go 20+ minutes without seeing another soul?

In the average game you're going to be alive less then 20 minutes. I think maximum game length because of the constricting play area is like 32 mins.

Yeah the videos are biased but the game's still fun. I hated h1 but really enjoy this. You seem to not enjoy it which is nbd but why keep fighting on this hill?

$30 impulse buys can add up for some people. The internet is useless if it's just an echo chamber.

Gotta keep those expectations realistic if there are lurkers who come here and might use our commentary to make a purchasing decision.

PUBG was just my new game of the week which is why I continue to check the thread, but you're right, I'll probably just go away.

Like every game is the same, i get an early kill, then when i have to move in towards the circle i die instantly to someone who i didn't see, or someone who kills me from behind as I'm shooting someone and i finish in 20th.

Donktimesfour on steam if anyone wants to play with a noob.

I've found that most of my deep runs have come when I am aggressive getting into the circle early with a vehicle, or just lucky with where the circle falls. If I end up on foot chasing like the 3rd and 4th shrinkings then I wind up getting shot in a hay field from somewhere I can never quite pin point. There's just no time to clear hills and whatnot if you have to be full sprinting for a minute just to not die.

I still haven't won a game in 18 hours played, but finished 2nd, 4th, 4th, 2nd, and 3rd in my last 5 of my 7 duos last night (lots of choking). Also finished 2nd in a squad game where our random 4th hid in a hayfield from 11th down to 1 on 1 and lost fight. Game is starting to feel faaaar less awkward, and I'm getting much better with the gun mechanics.

Getting much more addicted to this than I thought I would.

Check out some of the streamers when they play. Ton of things to pick up on.

Like, clearing out the edges and watching where the circle is gonna shrink to, so you can find you a favorable spot, where people can't run up behind you, since you cleared it.

been watching this on Twitch non-stop - solid game and a good indie story behind the development (if you're a nerd like me and care about stuff like that.)

Had like no problems initially in squads and lately just running into the most toxic people in the game apparently.

Bought this game a couple of days ago and I love it. The mix between stealth and engagements is great. If strategically sneaking around to shoot someone in the back sounds fun to you get this game. You can also go all rambo if you want but that's only going to work in the early game.

Also, I just won my first solo match. I spent the last 4 minutes of the game crawling prone into the circle. Killed one guy early end game to make it 4 alive then just snuck around trying to find people and not be spotted. Last guy had no idea where I was and it was an easy kill.

Biggest complaint I have is the jumping is very clunky. Hard to get over even short walls.
