My wife put about 16 hours in this weekend and really likes it. I got about 1, and the character creation was fun. Decided to rest I'm the cave and my female companion stole all my water.

If you hire when you get to say, lvl 6, now your hire is a fresh lvl 5, and it takes a much longer time to get from 5-6 then it does from 2-3, so those hirlings are probably going to always be a level behind your main character/NPC party members. Plus an extra person in your party is probably always going to be better than leveling slightly faster in terms of actual combat strength.
Note that this is only for custom hirelings, i think the npc party members are your level when they join your party.

Can't believe someone is trying path of damn ed already. There's no way you are ready without having played through the game a lot. Too many surprise attacks and even some bugs. I accidentally picked up something I shouldn't have and an entire town attacked me. At one map even after a fight I was unable to unenlightened until I cleared every mob in the map.

Anyone know where the sentries are in heritage hill and also where elmshore is?

Juk dropped this link in the thread with zero context so it was largely ignored. Has anyone here encountered this bug yet? I'm trying to determine how big of an issue it actually is before I start a character.

If you double click an item to equip it to your character, your character loses ALL Passives/Racials/Permanent Buffs, forever.
Dragging and dropping works fine, but do not double click or you might find yourself having to restart your game. Loading the game up from a previous save thankfully does fix it.

Never happened to me by accident and I have a mouse that double clicks randomly once in a while. Save before doing something with inventory just in case. Then press C and look up if any active effects been removed from your char.

Yeah sorry, I should have said more about it.

I'm only 2-3 hours in so wondering if it's best to just wait a few days for the patch and restart fresh?

I had a horrible experience with a corrupted savefile in BG1 (after trying to install ToSC expansion midway through playing) that caused the guards in the main BG city to duplicate every time I entered the different areas. I ended up having to redo 30+ hours of play because of that and really don't want to repeat the experience again if possible...

PS: There are also reports of other serious game breaking bugs now (eg: "Using stash erases similar letters/books!") so waiting it out might be the best option

I'm annoyed I created character without Resolve since it seems there are ton of resolve checks in conversations. Constitution seems fairly bad and I followed in-game recommendation and raised it to 16. I guess I might as well create new character, Chanter is bit annoying to play since you need to wait so long until you can actually cast the invocation.

Thanks, Juk. I think I'm going to wait a while as well and see how this shakes out. It isn't like I don't have a ton of unplayed games in my library to kill time with in the meantime.

Most of the conversation triggers seem to be perception for me.

Seems like a bunch of these quests are not finished. The heritage hill one I finished earlier can't be finished depending on what choices you make I think.

Also I'm doing the storyline quest and I think I have run into a dead end here. If you decide to attack the temple of woedica you get a lead key quest item which opens a locked box with nothing important inside and get no clues as to where to go next.

I had to load a previous save and infiltrate the place instead to get the quest to continue. Very annoying.

Obviously a great game, but still has one of the most for me immersion breaking mechanics in cRPGs.

Hai there, I just walk into your house and take all the stuff, no problem?

On some stuff when you mouse over your pointer turns red, if you take things from those containers npc will attack.

Had a bit of a bug with reputation not increasing on Defiance Bay even tho log would show extraordinary increase. Maybe I shouldn't have slaughtered

Think I'm done until a few bugs get fixed. The quests bug is super annoying. Also this new one about if you have saved and loaded in a spot where you recruited a character your stats will go up is game breaking.

On top of that I got the summon wurms thing with my chanter. Now every zone spawns wurms

I am shelving this until a patch or two come out, and then I'll restart. I did NOT double click anything because I knew about the bug, but I still lost my passive racial bonus on my rogue somewhere along the way.

I played up through unlocking the Stronghold and going to Defiance bay. I went to the Dozen first and they gave me a quest to go find some dude's breastplate from the Crimson Knights (I think that's what they're called).

Spoiler:
Instead of going through all the shenanigans with how the quest intended me to complete it, I just killed the guy, took the breastplate, and then wiped out the entire castle. Netted me like 10k currency and some decent goodies. I then went to go hand in the Breastplate back at the Dozen HQ and the guy FLIPPED OUT on me for killing the guy and told me to keep the damned breastplate. I lost all chat options. That means I couldn't unlock the vendor in the Dozen HQ.

Oops.

Here's the thread in case anybody needs it:

Stat bonus modifiers can erroneously be applied multiple times allowing stats to grow beyond intended values

Also, here's the full list of "game-breaking" bugs found so far:

I'm about 20 hours in and still loving the game but not entirely satisfied. The combat seems a bit more interesting than in Baldur's Gate/IWD (and obv. way better than Planescape), I'm digging the NPCs and quests and areas and lore and all that, but after clearing half of Defiance Bay, this game still feels and plays almost exactly like Baldur's Gate.

Is this all they could do after fifteen years? Or did they feel this game at least had to toe the line pretty closely to the old Infinity games to please all their backers? I'm really hoping the new Torment adds something new to the mix, though I'm sure myself and everyone else would be more than happy with Planescape 2.0.

So instead of stopping to wait for a patch I just beat the game instead. Enjoyed it a lot.

I was curious: for the triple crown solos does that include hiring adventurers at the Inn? If so I wouldnt even know where to start.

The right class, and a LOT of terrain/chokepoint abuse. Also, skipping violent content in favor for quests involving talking and running errands. Content in the game doesn't scale, so you just need to be overleveled.
