It’s probably just the way I grip the mouse but the Naga just didn’t do it for me. I wiped a few raids in Wrath before I just gave up on the Naga. It never felt comfortable in my hand either. The side buttons kept trapping dead skin too.

Gonna give the 603 a try. I currently alternate between the MX master and G903 for office work. An easy to carry mouse that doesn’t scream gamer will be nice.

MX518 legend getting returned... I just like the 903 a lot more at this point. Time really flies.

Obv looks good, why 2070 tho?

Should just go for like a 1080ti or 2080 for not much more?

i was lazy and didnt build my own this time. looks like 2080 is 150+ more? putting a cart together, its quickly coming to more than i paid for it also (got 250 off that day). if i built my own i dont think i could justify spending as much on each piece, tbh. id want to go all out i9/2080 but then just be realistic and end up with an i5

pretty much was bored at work, decided i was getting one that day. in the final looking i found this one, was gonna get a bit cheaper, i5 2060 8gb etc, but said fk it why not.

Having used high res and high refresh rate monitors for years, I am being driven insane by the 22” 1080p monitors at work.

Yeah, my monitors can't keep up with my dataframes moving all over the place. So much ghosting...

and don't let me start on how flat those blue-red gradients look!

It’s just straight not bright enough.

Another thing I am doing... carrying my Logitech g810 keyboard to work everyday. I have to carry it because I have no permanent desk and no locker.

Some of the monitors I had to use (basically assigned daily) got these abominable “privacy” screens on too.

Linus Tech Tips spends hours doing target practice in CS GO at 60hz and 240hz and concludes higher refresh rate does help even bad players.

Lenovo Legion y540 (i7-9750h, 16gb ram, 2060rtx, 144hz, 512ssd, 1tb hdd) should be arriving today.

Havent played games on pc since wow in 2006 so im pretty excited. I know, its a laptop, but i love the portability and dont really need everything on ultra setting 120fps.

Hoping it will be refreshing, cause my og xbox one has trouble running witcher 3, bf v and pubg atm.

2060 is enough to play most non-AAA games at 120+FPS at 1080. 60+ even with AAA titles.

Mechanical keyboards and high refresh rate high res (1440p) monitors are two things that just straight spoiled me. I am finding myself raging at 1680x1050 60hz monitors at work way more than I should but it's positively enraging when a "ctrl+f" to bring up the navigation pane makes a word doc unreadably blurry.

As for mechanical keyboard... even the silent MX switches are pretty much no go. I think I am going to settle on MX Browns and my neighbors just have to deal with it.

For work I use 2 large 2400x1600 displays, and going down really feels bad. For games I feel OK with a 1080p monitor, I guess mostly because I'm more concerned with getting a high frame rate. I also agree that browns are about minimum, for gaming reds are OK also though.

I prefer browns actually. Blue too clacky when I don't have headphones on and I am not a fan of reds/silents because I like tactile feedback.

Purely personal preference thing though.

Yeah I agree. Before I bought a mechanical keyboard I bought a little testing matrix, basically 9 different kind of keys in a 3x3 grid. I tried them all, including with eyes closed, and evaluated how loud they are etc. I settled on browns for a gaming keyboard (really, unless you pay big $, you are probably getting browns or reds on a gaming keyboard)

What switches are better? I wouldn’t mind spending 2/300 on a keyboard if it’s a perfect one. Between gaming and work, I am on computers 12+ hours a day on average.

I have used a G710+ with browns for the last 3 years. It's been a wonderful keyboard. The keys still have the same feel even after thousands of strokes. I felt that blues were too noisy. Browns still give you a nice tactile feel.

Think of Sean Connery in Finding Forrester saying "Punch the keys"

For work I just got a Logitech G613 Wireless, which has the Romer-G switches. I tried it for a bit and I really liked the feel. I will report back later once I've actually used it for several days.

I write a lot of code, and the rhythm that a good keyboard switch provides is an essential flavor of the experience of working on a computer. I recommend spending good money on a quality keyboard if you will be using it a lot every day. But before buying one, I would say it's almost essential to go to a brick & mortar store to try typing on multiple different switches to see which is preferable to you. There are subtle differences in the type of switch, but this is an action you'll be performing thousands of times every day, it would be nice if you actually enjoyed each keystroke you make.

Purely anecdotal but I avoid Logitech keyboards like the plague, I've gone through 3 expensive ones in the last decade. Two G15s and I forget the other, a newer model.

I have been using a Logitech G810 on one of my computers for about 3 years. It was actually my first mechanical keyboard. Honestly I picked it at the time because I didn’t want to install another software and I have been using Logitech headsets and mice for years. And top of the line g910 just looks unnecessarily sophomoric.

Romer-G is basically a mushier brown and the key caps seem lower quality than other keyboards in price range. I was still very happy with with the g810 until I started trying brown switches and the esdf (I use esdf instead of wasd) key caps started losing paint and space bar started getting limpy.

One thing I didn’t realize I would love so much is the “floating” key caps look. It makes the keyboard dramatically easier to clean. I think the g413/g513 have the floating keycaps thing too. A G513 with media controls, Logitech software, brown switches, built in USB hub (one for wireless headset and 1 for mouse receiver), and higher quality key caps is basically the perfect keyboard for me.

My current main daily driver, a Corsair K70 with Cherry MX browns, hit all the notes except it’s not Logitech and it only has one usb passthrough port.

PS: I could live without the RGB.

Don't get Razer or Steelseries imo. Had bad experiences with both brands.

Razer is made by the same people who brought you those terrible 3rd party nintendo controllers from the early 90s that were strictly worse than the factory made ones. Can't think of there name at the moment. Lost me like $250 when exploded mid set playing poker within about a year of purchase. 2/5.

Just had a steelseries that I bought on sale and was never superbad but always felt kinda subpar. 3.5/5.

Just bought corsair and hoping it works out ok.

Is it Madcatz or something like that? I had one of those and it certainly was buggy back in the day.

I've got a Razer Blackwidow keyboard and it has held up for 5 or so years very very well. Zero complaints. I'd probably try something else when it dies but purely for the sake of trying another brand, I'd recommend the Razer.

I used a Deathadder mouse for roughly the same time until the clickers went back maybe 6 months ago. Went Logitech G502 Proteus and it has been fine. Has maybe too many buttons if any complaints.

I have no complaints about any of the Razer products I've had.

I'm currently using a Black Widow Ultimate(2016) keyboard, Deathadder(2016) mouse and have a Naga(2016) mouse for back up.

I got around to upgrading the PC.

Swapped out GTX 970 for a RTX 2070.
Had some Viewsonic 24" 1080p 60hz monitors, replaced them both with Benq Zowies 24" 1080p 144hz.

I thought about getting bigger monitors, but I used to have a 27" monitor at work, and it was just too big.

To chime on the accessories thing going on.
Corsair K-95 Keyboard - works great but lot of the lights on the keys are dead.
Logitech G502 - really good mouse. I just have issues keeping it clean. I guess the grooves on the bottom just really like to pick up dead skin/grease.
