Thanks, I think its 60hz... Well I go to change it and that's the only thing listed in the drop down menu.

What's is the recommended Refresh rate nowadays. I only really play counterstrike if that has to do anything.

Edit: how does this monitor match up to the 1 I have already.... http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/benq-monitor-gw2765ht

If you have the money then get 144hz for cs

Ya I would but they seem a bit too expensive for me sadly ... I need basically a 2 x 27"inch 2560x1440 so I guess I will just have to go with the 60hz

How new is 144hz? Do a lot of people have them yet? Don't really know anything about monitors other than response time and resolution.

Would you buy from this guy? Based in Korea I think, based in the UK London though. I just don't want some fake stuff. I guess I can just try it out and send back if I'm not happy.

Is there a way I could test it out to make sure it isn't a fake

One of the posters on this forum offered to help me out with my SSD situation and we came to an agreement on product and price, then he fell off the map and I haven't heard from him since. It wasn't a scam or anything but it really throws a wrench in to things when you think you have a solution in the works but nothing comes of it. That's one of the benefits with dealing with the more "established" retailers...

The guy you're looking at seems to have a pretty good reputation and lots of positive feedback so that should give you some confidence in making that purchase. Just doing a quick search of his feedback, there were several buyers of Razer products, including the Chroma you're looking at, that were happy with the transaction. That would be enough to give me confidence to buy from them.

Question for you guys:

Is there any software or windows setting that will let me browse the internet on one monitor with mouse/keyboard while playing a game on another monitor with an xbox controller without pausing the game?

decided to give Rift a try, couldn't get thru the character creation screen before I bluescreened. This is after updating to the latest nvidia drivers yesterday. Was really hoping new drivers would have fixed my issue.

Does running the game in windowed mode do this?

Also check this out: Ignore deactivation (keep focus). I found a bunch of threads referencing that tool but I haven't used it myself.

Also I have been playing Grid Autosport lately and the game actually utilizes two monitors. One for the actual racing and a second for information, maps, etc... I wish more games would do this. Strategy games in particular would be great if you could use a second monitor to display information or maps.

Yeah, I have it on borderless window mode and it stays on the screen when I use my second monitor but it's unresponsive until I click back on it. Not a big deal but I thought maybe someone knew a way to keep both active at the same time. I found some posts from 2011 saying it's not possible.

Dunno why it works, but when I would bot in WoW, I could keep the Warcraft window open (had to) and browse on another monitor or whatever and it'd work fine.

Additionally, you could use AHK to pass keystrokes to the active window and WoW, but not really directly control both.

This isn't set up specific but I'm hoping someone know about hardware and can help me. I had a sound card but I took it out, as my video card is a bit damaged and they can't both fit now, but since I've taken it out none of the audio input/outputs work. I use an hdmi monitor with speakers, but I'm looking to put a mic in. Any suggestions on how I can fix it?

Do you have onboard audio you can use?

Yes the motherboard does, but the input/output at least doesn't seem to work.

Have you set the HDMI output to default device when you go to volume playback devices?

I think so, I just went through and updated some of my motherboards drivers.

It doesn't recognize when I plug something in, so there is only the 1 output option in the playback devices list.

Looking to upgrade my video card from an Nvidia GEForce GT610 to something that will run pretty much any game at high performance settings. Was thinking about a 970GTX but recently read about problems with them running at full capacity. Any other suggestions or is the 970gtx good enough to run graphics intensive games for the next few years?
