First Hardcore experience: Found a Tabula in act 1, everything was going great, didn't even come close to dying and then I got one shot from a little over 2k eHP at the start of act 6 by a Metamorph that I wasn't even that close to.

I didn't play this league but watched some streams,this awakener boss looks very confusing.

why is it so quiet in here?

Not really a huge drama bomb. Mists that make monsters tougher, jewel /tree stuff is probably interesting but probably not broken, QOL improvements to the massive atlas changes from last league, maybe the new skills and/or the new unarmed thing are interesting? I kinda want to try out mana guardian scorpion escort, assuming it isn't nerfed badly, but it doesn't look like the most interesting league.

With 280 new notables and new keystones I absolutely expect a broken combo to be found that will be meta for the league.

I've banished Windows 7 from my system due to its EoL last month (I've only booted into it very sporadically anyway, for the odd gaming session mostly), and I haven't yet taken the time to look into getting PoE to run on my main Linux install. It's probably going to be ridiculously easy with Lutris, I can imagine. I just couldn't be bothered until now. Maybe I'll even wait for the big 2.0, which I'll most definitely want to check out.

I'm sure as **** not going to install Win10 on my system, though.

Next league looks so fun. I skipped metamorph due to being busy at work and prepping for bar exam but I am really hoping to get in on Breach 2.0... hopefully caster meta comes back and I could play stormbrand CI occultist or maybe scion ascendant.

I foresee a lot of farming for currency to buy gems granting awesome passives.

Gonna need a new laptop for when I play this game on vacation. My old gaming laptop with 1060 mobile and 60hz 1080p panel seems to be close to its limits in terms of running POE at steady 60+ and I’d like to get 100+ FPS anyway.

I tried bringing the eGPU to Dominican Republic last year. My wife vetoed the idea.

Yeap. I am 100% sure there will be must have notables that will cost an insane amount of currency.

I installed Median XL today, I tried getting D2 going but I wanted PlugY and higher res and it's a bit painful to set up (needs version downgrading and still a bit tricky). Playing the original in SP without bigger stash or more respecs seems painful

Could you dual poet's pen then basically 3 link 2 (barrage+spellsinger +2x spells + 2 more supports) and vomit 4 skills per cast? Glacial Cascade and Freezing Pulse on poet's pens and frostbolt+ice spear on the 6 link chest maybe?

I'm still planning to play trickster or occultist stormbrand though...

Fwiw you don't actually have to link Spellslinger to an attack. You just link it to a spell, reserve the mana and that spell triggers on any wand attack. So you could have a 6-link attack in your chest and a 4-link (or more if you have the right mods obviously) spell in another item. But yeah you can use Poet's Pen to have additional spells triggered on attacking.

Got to 36 challenges for the first time and beat Awakened 8 Sirus, I think I can call that a successful league.

Don't ever go for 40, while it feels satisfying to get it and work toward it, I still haven't played a league since my first and last 40. No idea how some sickos do that more than one league.

Yeah I can't see myself doing that. I'm at 666/1500 map bosses and also have Endgame Grinds undone, it's just so much grinding that is needed for 40.

Just FYI in case you guys are having FPS issues.

My old 6700HQ was dropping frames and having big spikes in frame time with an external 1080ti. This was new in Metamorph league.

After tinkering with settings a bit, nothing really worked but I noticed my CPUs were average 80+% utilization and the CPU was running at 80c steady despite never throttling (all cores stayed at 3.2ghz steady... what 6700HQ turboed to). I thought maybe the eGPU/TB3 may be having issues so I tried the internal 1060 in the laptop at lower settings that I knew it could run at 60-100FPS steady. I still got the FPS but the frame time spikes continued.

I tried PoE on an 8650U laptop with the EGPU and the frame time spikes went away. This surprised me because userbenchmarks showed 8650U and 6700HQ basically tied for gaming performance but I guess its ability to boost to 4.2ghz helps with PoE a lot.

So I am guessing PoE is one of those rare games that actually needs good single core CPU performance but not really the GPU and I should keep that in mind as I shop for my next gaming laptop.

I just hope PoE isn't like WoW where the engine is just buggy and weird so even after i throw ungodly amount of hardware at it, I still won't get a big performance boost.

I'm not sure what made GGG think that pure physical impale cyclone needed a bunch of awesome notables in the new jewel system, but ok.

Pretty interesting interaction with my popcorn SRS that I played in 3.8.

It looks like these are designed so that just about every existing build archetype (or ones they want to will into existence) will have some set of desirable notables, so it seems like a poor league for SSF. They figure to be rare, and it figures to be hard to get one you want on your own.

The melee notables look sick. Caster one look kind of lackluster.

There are so many cool notables they'll be very highly sought after but I bet the min-maxers going to drive some of these notables to insane prices.

I think I'll actually try starting with a Spellslinger Assassin, using Kinetic Bolt to trigger Wave of Conviction and Purifying Flame.
