is anyone playing ele convert blade vortex inquisitor?

I feel like hardcore really is for people who've played thousands of hours of PoE and are just bored of softcore.

But if you havent experienced the exhilaration of playing softcore and blowing through stuff and trading for high end items all the time, its an amazing experience.

I've found that hardcore is really fun for the short, two-week leagues. Make a character, see how far you get, and if you RIP it's no big deal because it's a short league anyway.

Back when the game had three acts, HC was fine for me, I think. I would reach maps a large percentage of the times. And maybe one day I'll be like that in the ten act game, too. But I really need to get to know the content before venturing in blind into boss-fights with many hours invested in the character already.

i might try to get ranked as scion or raider in SSF softcore.

Will need to find touch of anguish claws tho >.<

or i can easy mode it if not ssf i guess, but then probably no high rankings

I'm playing an RF scion/ascendant on HC. I was SUPER conservative about doing certain boss fights along the way, since I remembered dying multiple times in my first play through when 3.0 hit.

So far so good, though I have had a couple close calls now that I'm mapping.

I've found that the market in HC is not very liquid, to say the least. I was looking for chromes to buy last night and couldn't find anyone for 30 minutes or so -- then I posted a beneficial-for-me exchange rate and went back to mapping, and sure enough a few different people sold me chromes for chaos at my rate.

I might try flipping currency later this week, just to experience it, since I feel like almost no one else is and it would legitimately help players while simultaneously giving me some currency to play around with.

Been super off PoE since early in Harbinger. Haven't even bothered installing it on the new computer I've bought.

Although, after reading the notes for War for the Atlas, I have a feeling I'll be back in a few weeks...

Some of the announcements were pretty run-of-the-mill, but the fact that (some?) rares will drop with unique-type affixes is really interesting and healthy for the game, I think. I love the idea of rares having the highest ceiling and being the most valuable gear.

I'm not hyped about this expansion for a number of reasons:

Mob density looks garbage in maps based on what we've seen so far
DD is such a popular mechanic, we need lots of corpse skills
Shaper and another, tentacly, Shaper is the new amazing endgame
Abyss is just... breach
Primal ancients, but I was never going to find any regardless
Slayer is OP
I get penalized for running a map I like and/or not killing the boss
5L rings? lol?

I agree with a lot of things you bring up, but why do you say you'll get penalized for running maps you enjoy?

It took me great effort to level a character to 35 in turmoil.

The expansion looks cool imo.

will one of you rich guys sell me a biscos before they get nerfed to the ground?

dont see how it's intuitive next season to both unlock the map of maps to farm shaper/elder things and at the same time keep a map pool going.

just hit lvl 98 in turmoil (no team)

will probably win my first demigod (4th in raider rankings)

Wow, grats kirby. 98 to 99.5 seems like it'd be no joke -- were you using QotF while mapping? Just as (faster clear speed)=(increased quantity), it seems like (increased move speed)=(increased everything).

could i buy one of those biscos before they get nerfed?

i would die too much with queen of the forest, every death is like 2-3 hours of pure farm wasted. the +1 frenzy kaoms roots were super important imo and cant use that with qotf because you have no evasion.

I guess I could've gone qotf if i only did Tier 10 and 11 but I was grinding shaped courtyards with sextants and some shaped coves

You can use qotf easily without dying in red maps. You would just have had to replace some flasks and gotten a lot more flat life and probably a few more hp nodes. In some ways if you have a really good qotf setup it is safer than belly since ms = survival.

the problem is not having kaoms roots for the immunity (and massive flat life ofc)

also this is on a 10 day race you cant get perfect life items in the other slots.

the only life nodes available were a few 4% life, really crap :\

Not saying anything anything is wrong with your setup, just qotf is pretty viable with the right setup, and with ranger you can make it fairly stun resistant without Kaom's.
