Being a newb still. I think I'm level 67. My Chaos Resistance is around -48% I think? That could be why I'm getting crushed?

I ran a map that put me at a boss full of flicker strike spiders and I couldn't even enter the room without dying instantly.

So, is the solution to find gear that now includes chaos resistance among the other resistances?

And, where is the best place to farm to build up a few levels? The tier 1 maps seem to be level 68 so I'd like to try to farm up to around 70.

Yeah. Have to start upgrading gear. Rings can get 35+ chaos plus other resistances.

Or a helm or boots and get around 40

Can't imagine being -40 chaos lol

afaik stacking chaos res isn't really a thing. chaos damage is rare, typically DoT, and chaos res gear is hard to fit into good builds. with a large enough life pool, some regen, and knowledge of which monsters deal chaos dmg, you can do almost all content at -60.

at least that's my understanding

yeah you shouldnt care about chaos res much

its a nice extra if you have some on gear that is already good

T2 ele damage... vendor

Thanks btw to whoever is putting maps in the guild chest.

I'm super busy irl, so going slow, and those maps are a life saver for building my atlas!

I'm at a comfortable place now with my build. Bought a 2nd Frozen Trail jewel and bought a Taryn's Shiver. The only downside was that I lost some resistances and I'm no longer maxed on any.

Finished Normal and Cruel Labs for a couple enchants.

I just hit level 71 and working on down a path toward more health nodes.

I realized that it's not going to happen trying to farm my own gear so now I am switching toward farming for Chaos Orbs to trade for the gear.

Any recommendations on how to farm the Chaos Orbs? I only just realized that I can vendor rare sets for the Orbs, but now my stash tabs are filling up massively and I have 0 room left for anything else.

I'm half considering buying the currency tabs and probably some more stash tabs, but I'm trying to get by without them.

Save jewellery (rings, amulets, belts. NOT jewels) in a dedicated tab. Those are the bottlenecks in the chaos recipe. Once you have two rings, an amulet, and a belt, go collect the other items.

And yeah, buy stash tabs. People always say this game is not pay-to-win, and while their model of monetization is absolutely more than fine in my book (and I hate most "free" to play models), this isn't really true. If you really want to get the most out of the game, you won't get around buying stash tabs.

chaos recipe is sort of meh. clearing maps quickly is more profitable.

am i crazy? what happened to the warehouse in act 3? the busts are all in the same place now?

Good point. I find armor all day, but the rings and amulets are few and far between. So I'll focus on them, and then just go out and farm up a few pieces of armor.

I can clear the maps I'm doing, Tier 1 through 3 or 4, but I'm not getting any gear worth using for myself. It's probably just easier to try to farm out Chaos Orbs and then going to the trade to buy uniques.

At least, that's what it seems.

yeah i dont think chaos recipe is worth the time investment at all.

The simplest way to make chaos is just to farm as fast as possible, 6 socket items for example drop a LOT in maps and are worth over a chaos each in jewellers.

Stack up jewellers, trade em 2:1 fusing to the vendor when you need em.

list your fusings at 2 for 1 chaos in a tab and its hundreds of chaos over time (800 jewellers = 100 chaos basically)

sometimes while farming super fast you'll simply drop a few uniques every couple hours worth 20c+ and even more if youre lucky, even in low maps.

I guess a follow-up question is, how do I add stuff to the trade? I heard something in passing that I have to have a premium tab? I saw something in a stream yesterday where someone added an item to their stash and set a price.

EDIT: When I see a 6 socket armor, I pick it up...and then what do I do with it?

I could probably throw a few things on trade every now and then just to see if it will sell.

yeah you need a premium tab to make them public and put up a price for them

So, get a premium tab and I'll probably get a currency tab too.

Not sure if you saw my edit. When I find a 6 socket armor, what do I do with it? Vendor it? Throw it up on trade as is?

Random 6-Sockets you sell to the vendor in town. They will give you 7 jeweller orbs for it.

You might want to skim this page: Vendor recipe system

Thanks. I'm learning a lot! So, it seems like it's all a game of math to get to a Chaos Orb. Accumulate jeweller's orbs, get fusings, get chaos orbs.

And from what I'm reading, Yeena in Act 2 sells 1 fusing for 4 jewellers. poe trade has them for slightly more.

I've been playing around with the currency market. Why do people sell 90 Chaos Orbs for 10 Jewellers? Are they scamming or mispricing? Or maybe they just don't know what they are selling? EDIT: I think the first guy I saw mispriced it. He relisted 90 Jewellers for 10 Chaos.

yeah every npcs that sell currency will give the same rates on currencies

some are terrible rates, but the standard ones you could and sometimes should do is 4 chances for a scouring, 2 scouring for a regret (each worth 1c), etc.
