I used my divine orb + 2 chaos to buy a magnate... I sold the magnate I found previosuly for divine + 6 GCP +2 chaos (iirc).

So I'm going to try and sell this one on again. I don't really have a character would make use of it. My shadow has meginords and my ranger needs hp...

I think these GCP are kind of redundant. But having 8-10 of them to quality a super leveled gem in late game seems like a good idea. I think I will need a bunch to quality my starting poison arrow gem once I'm level 70+

'I've also started asking for really ****ty rare rings/ammies to increase my revenue in trade as I figure they are worth 1/3 chaos each as the other rares required for recipe are pretty much free. Like if som1 wants to pay alch for weapon I say 'alch + any rare ring/ammy'

I am going to make a wondertrap farming build next. Need to get lots of high energy shield and two andvarius.

Would it be reasonable to try and swap my magnate for an andvarius?

I also REALLY want that axe which has + rarity. It is the only weapon in the game to get + rarity I think.

I have never see a chest with + rarity

When you guys are talking about going after these uniques, are you just farming and hoping they drop or at you asking in trade chat and then trading for them?

I've been skimming this thread over the last week or so and I'm pretty lost with what you guys are talking about.

I haven't really played much lately either.

This game would be so sick if it was as easy to control your hero as it is in D3. AS does help but it's not enough, the pathing is just so rigid.

Ya I thought that exact same thing about 2 weeks ago

I'm pretty used to it now and don't mind nearly as much as I did, but D3 felt so much smoother.

Another thing is that doing maps with 6 players the loot is a cluster****, and I don't mean ninjas. I mean the sheer amount of items all over the screen during big fights, have to toggle loot on/off or you're blind. Also sometimes the item nameplates can't even fit on the screen.

Both.

Farming unique is pretty slow and even just 100% rarity is preetty important as you (I think) double your rare and unique drops. There is a trading element with them as they are sort of currency. I know some times someone will pay 2 exalteds for a meginords so if I see one for sale in chat I will try and get one cheap. I used a goldrim as a GCP earlier.

With a team you can farm uniques pretty effective.... one person has very high rarity for killing blow while others get boss fights ready with tps waiting.

I still have not found an exalt do they drop at all levels? I have only found 1 GCP. I'm guessing once you run maps these are alot more common?

Yep, I did a 6 player party before in a map with +90% quantity, after killing the double boss area the loot names were more than 2 screens high, some of them I had no way of clicking on.

I generally run maps with just me and a friend now. We mostly just ignore loot until the general area is clear, although some big items we do pick up fast in case the instance crashes on us.

nope, andy costs a lot more. Magnate & meginords have both dropped a lot. It's not very difficult to find a considerably better rare belt. I spent a long time selling my meginord's today for only exalt+2-3 gcp, and people consider it the better belt.

Is there a command to force move? Like so that I can click a key or combination of keys that will move me to a spot regardless of what I click on.

I keep getting stuck in unit patches when I want to move around.

And yea, I'm getting used to the controls, it feels a lot like an upgraded D2.

Anyone have a 70+ hard core character? I keep dying just before level 50 and it really pisses me off. Lol. I guess I just suck.

I'm level 80 on hardcore

I recommend public groups for progression and don't stand in front :P

Get some kind of totem to scout ahead/tank for you in dangerous areas even if your build has 0 +totem abilities. Spell Totem + Summon Skeleton has worked great for me.

Was in a public game with one other person, never saw 'my' exalted drop. Guy just left it on the ground, and said it was mine. I was confused/impressed by the gesture. What's a good tip - 4 alchemy?

Only thing I hate about pubs is how badly it lags me down. Think I get maybe 8 fps with heavy spell casting. Did Vaal and had no idea what was happening (which phase), so I just ran in a circle.

I'd give him a divine, that was a grand gesture to be sure.

Giving this another try, played it briefly a few months ago.

I love the complexity of the items, the skills, the sockets, all that jazz. Obviously it's not as fluid as D3 in movement and combat but it crushes it in every other area. The more you play you get used to the controls just fine though. It's a shame that D3 decided to go the carebear route, this game shows how much potential an ARPG can have. Complexity makes the game.

I have a level 10 Marauder just getting my feet wet still.

Reading up on their leagues and ladders and stuff makes it seem really awesome and will have lots of longevity.

tip from a duelist who regrets everything he has ever done: use an endurance charge build.

Saw this thread and decided to give it a try. Played a shadow up to lvl 7 or so, going to give a straight ranger a try since I was using mostly the bow anyway. Any tips/tricks for a complete noob?

Shadow specs fine into an archer, no need to play ranger just to use a bow. Simply put points into bow related talents as you head out of the shadow tree.

Is there a way to change from a guy to a woman?

assuming you didn't post in the wrong thread, no.

I gave my duelist a girl name anyways, fight the power!

tell me when you're near the end of act 2. I have a witch that I need to level but I've been too lazy about it.

So I have this "Heated Short Bow of Needling" that I'm using and it has a blue and green gem slot. I'm using the green slot with a Poison Arrow gem.

I killed a boss guy and he dropped a "Corpse Branch Short Bow" that only has a red gem slot (I'm a ranger so not really using any red gems). The bow itself looks like it's rarer than the one I'm using (is there a way to tell? I hear stuff about white items and no no idea what they are) and I believe has better overall modifiers.

Is there a way I can change the red gem slot on the new bow to a green one so I can use my Poison Arrow gem with it? I have a few other items that have green slots but they're being used by other gems.

Chromatic Orb does that

In a pinch I think you could also try to jeweler orb it, which is about 2-3 the cost of a chromatic orb but it rerolls the number of sockets, since you have 1 now, if you get more sockets they might be green.

This shouldn't be hard since bows are dex based and therefore favor green sockets >rand
Path of Exile Quote

1 chromatic orb should be enough to change it, might as well do it just to try it out.

I wouldn't usea jeweller, a chromatic has a very high chance of getting you that green gem. A jeweller will get you 2 or 3 sockets max, because of the low ilvl of the bow (it needs to be ilvl 15 just for 3 sockets).

But here is my honest tip, just keep playing with your old bow and don't worry about it. You'll probably find another upgrade before too long. To compare bow dps, just hover your mouse over the skills that you're currently using (or even open up the character page).
