I haven't played in ages, but it didn't take long to get end gamey. If you join the 2p2 guild there's a community chest and people will hook you up with early-mid game stuff. Just pick a decent build where the play style looks fun to you. Just the free currency you can get from the chest will make the early-mid game pretty easy.

A good place to start for beginners is Engineering Eternity's youtube channel. He has playlists of different aspects of the game. The beginner, leveling, and build guide playlists are probably a good place to start browsing.

If you want build ideas, give us an idea of what playstyle (melee, bow, summoner, caster) you want, and probably someone can link a good guide that explains some of the reasons why things work and what you should prioritize in terms of item stats. Knowing how builds work obviously helps you assess how good different loot is.

It's a tough game to get into initially, and it requires sort of a big investment to really get it, but it's incredibly rich once you understand the mechanics.

What's your ign Wookie? I can add you to the guild if you'd like, then you can use the guild chest, which has some okish stuff to get you going a bit quicker.

Has anyone done the uber hillock thing? Apparently if you level to 7 without ever leaving the strand you get a beefed up hillock who drops a 6 link unique sword. (I'm bouncing between 2 chars doing it since it takes a min or two for the zone to reset, slow going from 5 to 7 though)

i dont think its guaranteed once ur 7 tho its still rare

You can reset the zone yourself by pressing Ctrl when you enter it.

This appears to be the case, I haven't had him spawn yet. Leveling up 2 more so I can have a 4 char rotation to try.
