I haven't played much lately and do a few runs here and there when I feel like it.
Checking the challenges now and maybe doing a bunch of stuff to get to 24 mark,but no way I do the 36 challenges.

I just started mapping and I have no idea what to pick up and what's good. Any resources for this?

I got the Neversink filter and that has cut down on the clutter quite a bit. A lot of rares pop up that I don't completely understand why they drop, but I pick them up and ID them to see what kind of stats they have.

I had a blue glove drop yesterday and chat said it was because it's good for crafting. I don't have any clue how to turn blue into something good. Scour it and then alch it? I don't know.

Mapping for me has basically come down to farming for currencies to eventually just go and buy the Uniques that I want for my build. I'm not sure what else to do other than that. It's few and far between to find a rare piece of armor that is an upgrade -- and my gear isn't even all that great.

With that said, I was playing yesterday and some guy was giving away Chaos Orbs. He gave me 20 for repeating something he said and then another 20 for answering a question that I had to google for the answer. People thought he was screwing around, but he was actually giving them away for real! Can't beat that! I'm now up around 105 Chaos Orbs.

re crafting: the general idea is to use alteration orbs to get a prefix or suffix that you really want and then augment orb to get a complementary suffix or prefix. when you hit both a good prefix and a good suffix, you can regal orb to get a 3rd stat. assuming all goes well, you can then choose to do different things including using vendor crafts or slam with an exalt orb. it's not necessarily cheap, but it's a good way to sort of control for exactly what you want on a piece of gear.

tbh gloves dont strike me as particularly lucrative to craft in this manner, but i might be missing something. essence crafted gloves can be quite powerful, but that's not a whole lot different from spamming chaos orbs to craft gear.

often times vendor crafting and exalted orbs are used in conjunction -- you vendor craft a suffix that you dont want to get and then slam with exalt orb and hope for a suffix you do want. then you change the vendor stat to something good.

and don't craft Italian, crafting is for rich pros pushing endgame, leave that part

correct. the odds of you first hitting what you want with a regal orb and then hitting what you want with an exalt are quite small. you can EASILY blow 200 chaos in like 5 minutes of crafting and end up with pure junk. but the pros do it because you can also bink a piece of gear that sells for 100 exalt or something absurd.

I've been picking up the rares that pop up through my filter, ID them, and then vendor them. Most of the stuff I pick up doesn't have much for resistances so I figure it's probably not that good. I could probably focus on a specific piece of gear, but I forget about it. I've been comfortable running up to around Tier 10 maps.

I've just been stockpiling currencies and that's about it. I tried to buy a Belly of the Beast for 3c when it normally sells for 35c. The guy selling it never responded.

now that im watching mathil play terminus est flicker, i think the thing that i hated most about the build, more than the completely random deaths or the seizure-inducing flickering, was the weird spin thing slayer does with leap slam. so ****ing annoying.

I've always hated leap slam as a movement skill. I just can't seem to get it going smooth. Even with a bunch of attack speed it still feels jerky.

I'd generally rather just waste a flask slot for a decent quicksilver w/ increased duration + movement speed.

I wouldn't mind beefing up a build either.

So I got my ranger to like 83ish. Ended up going split arrow / fire arrow / evasion / speed build

Got a chest piece that gives me movement speed per a set amount of evasion. So bombing all slots with evasion + grace. My toon has a speed modifier of like 115. Just flying around. Can kill mobs with SA and tank bosses with evasion flask + damage flask + life leech.
