Picking roles should be completely redone. Its an abysmal failure.

I believe there is/was a mode in the Arcade that was like this. It was pretty interesting.

And yeah, to an above response, I agree "lol competitive Mystery Heroes."

I love Mystery Heroes and just don't understand why some people get so serious about it that they get pissed when the comps are unbalanced or they don't get "their" hero. That's part of the fun!

I think draft is inevitable. It will make the meta a lot more dynamic and reward versatile players. Post draft, people can swap to whatever hero nobody is using.

The only issue I can think of is when the meta has a hero (widow on some maps) that’s really hard to counter except with a mirror pick. Blizzard would have to balance around that.

let each team ban a hero or two then

no swaps. **** the random mei stalling

I'm dreading the Sombra changes and I'm even a fan of the hero. Classic "let's go way overboard in taking a hero from slightly underpowered to massively OP before we nerf them in between" Blizzard approach that is annoying af. The hack and EMP changes are enough by themselves. Adding a superior spread, better vision hacks, AND longer translocator is just ridiculous.

Blizzard loves updating multiple things with heroes at one time, and releasing infrequent updates. Why does Mei need freeze duration AND reduced ammo usage? Just do one or the other and iterate.

I think when the hero roster gets bigger adding some bans is a must. I'm not sure if its there yet but eventually it'll have to be added in.

Really hope the buff hanzo plz.

I can't see a draft working if you can just switch over. Plus you d have to make all hero's in a pool right. So only one mercy in the whole game? GG. Bans might work tho.

I don't see blizz ever having bans in OW.

New hero is on the PTR: Brigitte Lindholm, Torb's daughter.

She's a support, an off-healer hybrid off sorts of Torb and Rein.

She's a melee fighter with a hammer flail. Looks like a hammer thingy, but when it swings, chains come out of the sides.

She 600 hp barrier that functions like Rein's, but it's small, personal-sized. When it's up, she can do a short charge like Rein, but it doesn't pin, just stuns.

One of her abilities is an heal pack like Torb's armor pack, but it doesn't need scrap metal. It's just on a short cool down. If it overheals someone, the extra healing becomes armor.

Her Shift ability is a long flail whip which damages and stuns.

Her ult gives her a speed boost and gives nearby allies extra armor, so kind of like Lucio's if he also got a speed boost.

I played her in No Limits, so almost everyone was Brigitte. It was wild. I think she's going to be good, though she certainly seems like a hero that is situational (since she's melee) and definitely can't be the primary healer. I like her so far - fun to play.

EDIT: I think the armor boost that is given with her ult stays even after the ult is done (until it is destroyed with damage).

Haven't played in a while, but decided to try the new hero. 5+ minutes waiting for a game! WTF? Is the first day on PTR always like this? I'm pretty sure I was on the PTR first day for Doomfist, Moira and Orisa and I was able to get into a No Limits game pretty quick.

Yeah, when a new hero is released, everyone rushes to the PTR. Took me a couple minutes to get onto the server, but didn't take long to actually get into a game.

tank hero hybrid is perfect. now i no longer have to decide which one to play with a genji-hanzo-widow-symmetra-mcree comp

This new guy is sweet. Fits my playstyle perfect. I'm a tank main who secondary is support.

+1, good sombras are practically unkillable. i think only realistic counter is mcree with a perfect flashbang headshot?

a team with a good sombra/orisa combo is just infuriating to play against lol

I had been playing sombra a decent amount and I always felt like her clip was too big.

You hack a mega, toss a translocator on it, go invis, and sneak up on someone/go after a tank when they get low, and then translocate back. Hopefully after a pick or major annoyance.

The timing of the sneak attack always felt like it could last an awkwardly long time before I got used to it. I had to consciously tell myself to continue attacking until the clip was empty because at first it felt more natural to translocate back after about 80% of the clip was empty. Maybe it was because I've played a decent amount of tracer, but I was always surprised at how the clip size basically meant Zen was toast even without many headahots.

Also reading reddit reminded me that you can do silly hacks while los'ing people similar to how hogs hook used to work.

Is the matchmaking for placements looser than normal? I swear my placement match teammates are all on oxy.

It seems the placements have almost no impact on rank anyway. I've seen people go 10-0 and 0-10 in placements and receive essentially the same rank as their previous season. What a waste of time.

if playing competitive games is a waste of time then why are you even playing the game

I think we've had this discussion before so I won't rehash why I believe that it would be comparatively better to not require placement matches for people who had a rank in the previous season.

I haven't played competitive the last three seasons (well, I played a few placement matches three seasons ago) and I'm having fun playing almost every day.
