If those names don't sound familiar to you:

I think Mondatta was Zenyatta's mentor.

I'm not sure if they've done any changes to the SR system but I like how it's going so far. I lost 3 straight even though I was playing really well and lost like ~15 SR per match. Then I had a beast game where we were really outmatched and I had 5 gold medals and got 60 SR for the win.

Yikes. Just got my first competitive temp ban. My PC crashed 5 seconds into pregame. What sucks is if it happened mid-game, I could've gotten back in time. Lost 50 points.

It was going to be a **** game, anyway. The team comp was so bad that someone said, "I didn't realize I was in quick play."

I laughed and then my PC went all screwy.

I may have mentioned that, even though I bought the PC version of Overwatch shortly after release, I only got into Overwatch after visiting a friend who had the Xbox version.

I played on his Xbox the other day. The game just feels so different on the controller. Sniping is harder, tracking fast moving targets is so much harder. Even minor things like emotes and sprays are harder to do.

Also annoying is that my friend is a very casual player. But the way he played just felt so wrong. He never bothered with the point. Never bothered with the payload. Never cared about what his teammates are doing or where they are. Just wanted to get his kills. Even said at one point, "I got play of the game, that's all that matters!" We were mainly playing Arcade. But even there, I try to win the game, if only to get the loot boxes. But he didn't care whether he won or lost at all. Only about getting kills. At one point, he randed into Reaper, then proceeded to walk off the map because he doesn't like Reaper, then was happy when he got Junkrat instead.

I guess I should give him the benefit of the doubt, since he rarely plays Overwatch (he'd never seen the Oasis map, for example).

Sounds like a standard console player.

Surprised he didn't just pick comp and go junkrat/hanzo.

I have a racist friend who uses the n word a lot.

I know a guy who is in jail for murder.

My aunt is a scientologist.

No one is perfect and we all have flaws.

But I don't think I could be friends with someone like your console friend.

Meh, that was basically everyone the first week or so they played the game. I remember during the first few weeks of release it was basically unplayable if you were actually trying to win. It's what made me stop playing for a long time.

God i hate running into a group as a solo queuer.

last night the game that tilted me into stopping was when we went 2-0 on oasis and were doing pretty well despite struggling with a pharah because it was just me trying to deal with her every game all game.

~3 people in the group were together and sounded pretty young like maybe 16. One was reaper the entire time and was doing basically nothing. Then the mercy says "ne 1 else heal i wanna play junkrat"

me: "please dont"

"ya im playing junkrat"

the other one says "ill heal" switches to symmetra.

we lose 3 straight lol

reaper at the end of the game "my teams so bad can i ever get a good team"

Developers are going to rework Mystery Heroes a bit. Things I read:

1) Going to speed up the beginning by getting rid of the hero selection screen.
2) Will probably not let people just jump off the map to die and get a different hero.
3) Might let people keep their ult if they die and re-roll the same character.

I've had a bit of a winless streak lately - down to 1840 from just over 2000. I haven't played great by any means (felt I played below my normal ability with Zen, for instance), but have had the usual run of bad teams, toxic players, bad comps, etc. Hell, I had to play Tracer once and I've literally never played her in competitive. Did ok, I think (though Oversumo says I played her at a Silver level). Had trouble landing her ult for some reason.

One thing that has been tough in Gold (HEY, I FINALLY GOT TO GOLD) is that I've been trying to use Lucio's speed boost more instead of just always healing, but teams don't typically understand how to take advantage of it.

Haven't had much time to play the last couple days, so just went QP and practiced McCree and Soldier. Never really played McCree aside from Mystery Heroes - he's pretty fun! Very basic character and clearly relies on good aim, but I'm liking him.

By the way, I have been having lag/rubberbanding issues lately. Been seeing my ping go into the mid-100's and even into the 200's and of course it's been hurting my play. Couldn't figure out what was going on.

Remedied it by switching to the 5ghz band on my wireless adapter. Though I have dual band adapters and router, I keep everything on 2.4ghz so that everything can be on the same network (this is important mostly for Chromecast). Realized that even when no other devices are actively streaming or downloading, they still might be contributing to a little congestion (since every phone, tablet, TV, bluray player, etc. is on the same band), so I switched.

Worked great. Ping has stayed steady down around 30-40 in the day or so I've tried it.

Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was having problems.

Hung out right around 2000 all last season. Did my placement games and got 1500, was so toxic down there. One map had people all messing around, and all dmg/a hanzo or something. So I went bastien just for fun, didn't know he got buffed and was having fun. From then on I played Bastien pretty much every game for 12 games. Went 9-3 and as of last night I'm just within top 100 Bastiens with some pretty crazy stats compared to what I've had on any other character haha

I'd rewire my entire house or reorganize my entire apartment to avoid gaming over WiFi.

I drilled a hole through from my living room to bedroom in order to play over ethernet.

I didn't even know this was a thing. I guess I've never re-rolled the same character while having an ult. I do know that when you re-roll the same character and you don't have ult, you start over at 0% ult charge.

As for WiFi, my 5 GHz is so much faster than the 2.4 GHz band. But the range is ultra low. I can't even get a 5 GHz signal more than 40 feet from the router. But when I need to download a big app on my phone (Hearthstone, I'm looking at you), I always have to go to the back of the house where the router is in order to get 5 GHz download speeds.

I'm glad that my house was pre-wired for Ethernet.
