I havent finished placing this season, but from what I hear its basically the same as last season that you typically place a couple hundred points lower but easily make it up if you win a couple

Could the big point jumps on wins be because it's early? Like a batting average fluctuating a lot early in the season? I've had a couple big wins, like 60-80 points.

I placed almost exactly the same this season as last, within 10 points, I think. It was 100+ points lower than where I finished Season 3 and about 250 lower than my peak. My placement record was better than last season's, though: 5-3-2 vs 4-6.

yes. the fewer games you have the less certain it is about your rating

Well then I need to win a lot right now so the game knows I should be AT LEAST Master!

It can be an interesting exercise in communication if you treat it that way.
Something I've tried is always take the side that has fewer people, if everyone is ganging up on a guy for playing bad defend him so it becomes 3 vs 2 instead of "**** this team". Obviously this only works if he just sucks or picked a bad hero, if someone is griefing or picked the wrong class of hero that's different, but if it's just your tank isn't initiating or your healer is too passive or something don't join the dogpile even if it's justified.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if you know this, but I found something out last night that I think everyone should understand:

The three healer comp doesn't work.

Just hit Gold rank for the first time!

Also, in a match this morning, an opposing D-va had two ults in the span of about 15 seconds. A Symmetra had her teleporter up on Hollywood before we even got to the payload, as well (and it's not like it took us a long time - we were in an extra round, so we had to move fast).

Is it possible someone(s) was hacking? If not, how did they get them so fast?

Bronze - 6%
Silver - 22%
Gold - 34%
Platinum - 23%
Diamond - 10%
Master - 3%
Grandmaster - <1%

Some interesting notes:
- Median maximum skill rating is not 2500, it’s actually a little above 2300. So if you have a maximum skill rating of 2350, you have a higher SR than 50% of the population!
- If you do a breakdown based upon the more volatile current skill rating, there’s even fewer players above 3000 SR than listed above. Only around 8% of the population was above 3000 SR for season 3 at any one time.
The sharps already kinda figured this but hopefully it stops the "lol diamond is the new gold" attitude you see sometimes.

I wonder what percentage of > 3000 players have smurfs too?

that distribution is pretty much in line with what I expected. since it's max that makes me think the actual current median SR is just above 2000

I destroyed a rip-tire as Lucio by punching it today. I don't even care I went 0-2 in my brief afternoon session.

Random question.

What rank do you think you would be if you weren't able to use your Q ever?

As in if you're masters do you think you'd stay masters or drop to diamond or plat?

Depends on your best hero. If you're a Widow or Mcree main, it hardly even hurts.

That Winston buff is going to be huge.

Also heard rumblings that doomfist may come out soon after Orisa. Hopefully this is true because would be fun to shake up the meta with two guys rather then waiting so long in between. Could just be a rumor we shall see.

PTR addresses a lot of my biggest problems with Ana (aside from her tiny hitbox). 80 damage with no drop off, and her ability to just grenade her feet when getting attacked made her terrifying.
