There is def a baseline to pewpew / mechanics. You can't be too terrible.

I'm old and have **** reflexes, but still can get into high diamond playing tank / offsupport. I'd prob be low plat in dps roles and that is mostly positioning / ult usage rather than aim that even keeps me that high.

played my 2 days of overwatch every 2 months.
ran into a mercy that played gun only and got 45 kills.
closed the game.

bought this for xbox1 on black friday for $20. It's fun. Haven't tried every hero yet but I seem to be the best with Zenyatta

Naisu, Zen has probably been the most consistently good hero in the two plus years history of the game. If you're able to play it on PC I suggest you jump ship, but it'll be fun either way.

After having been playing since day one almost three years ago, I'm done with this game or at least severely scaling back my play and probably retiring from competitive play. I feel like, on the entire spectrum of possibilities of where the game could be at this point in time, it's right around the bottom 33%. In a perfect world where people weren't *******s and there were equal amounts of people willing to play each role, the game would be amazing, but we do not live in that world. There are plenty of positive, fun people out there, but for me at least they get drowned out by all of the negative and toxic people who instantly point fingers, don't engage in any constructive communication, refuse to switch beyond reason, troll/throw, etc. The community seems to keep getting worse and it finally reached the point for me where frustration rather than fun was my most common feeling during a session. Watching streams over the lifespan of the game, it's evident a lot of people have come to feel the same way. There is a palpable feeling of frustration and futility now that contrasts with the fun, cool vibe the game had in 2016 and it's plain to see from the viewership #s and ever declining number of quality streamers that the game is going downhill faster than it should be.

In addition to the increasingly lousy community, the game developers have made some very poor decisions and seem very confused about which direction they want to take the game. I have no faith that they're going to turn things around after the repeated huge blunders, most notably the moth meta and original Brigitte design. I realize game balance isn't easy, but how do you not only allow either of those events to happen but to persist as long as they did/have?

Anyways, rant over. I hope I'm wrong and the game can somehow turn things around, but I doubt it will happen.

Huge leak to play this game with any communication turned on. I haven't had chat or voice on in forever (technically have voice on and have volume zero) . Yes theoretically my SR is lower as a result but IDGAF. I'm way way saner as a result.

Haha, I've been too much of an SR whore for that; I would lose the benefit of some of my biggest edges, communicating ult tracking and shot calling in general. I tried so hard to hit masters but never managed to do it, reaching a career high of 3301 last season (hit diamond almost every season but was hardstuck in low diamond). Not bad for someone in his thirties, though!

oh yeah well in that case I can't relate at all. At best with comms on and "shot calling" and all that I'm plat. With comms off and sanity I'm mid/low gold. Also in my 40s -_-

Its a fun game if if you don't let, well, humanity + the internet get to you.

I haven't played competitive since, I don't know, season six? It's mainly because there's too much of a chance that I'm interrupted and would have to leave the game, but I still play a lot and have had fun just doing QP and Mystery Heroes. It's just a game, so I enjoy it for what it is without worrying about my SR. At some point I'd like to try competitive again (I think I only got to gold, but feel I'm better now), but I don't care if I do.

No, I don't understand what he wrote.

That it's a Blizzard game and that took it farther than anything else? Quite likely. I played heavily the first year and wasn't any good at all but had lots of fun with friends, it's just not a game I'll ever want to fire up and solo queue in.

This game is a lot of fun to spectate and see what guys like Seagull and Harbleu can do with good communication and great mechanics.

When I play, no communication will save me from my lack of pew pew.

yeah i dont play much because i dont want to hear a bunch of young kids yelling on comms..

plus i have roughly zero irl pc gaming friends so that doesnt help much.

I really think this is the best multiplayer game ever. Maybe Halo 3. It’s complexity reminds me of poker and chess. Never really see the same situation twice and limitless potential to improve. I hear the complaints, but on the whole, gameplay is quite balanced/fair and free DLC keep it evolving.

The community can be frustrating, but I’ve had mostly good experiences on PS4 competitive ~diamond. Make sure you always have 3 teammates avoided (even if they’re just below average). Mute angsty teens. Group up with mics you like. Be good at two heroes from every class. I kind of like having to work w/ real people after growing up on death matches.

I don’t even want to look at my hours played but I got in on day 1 and still coming back for more.

My kid and I are currently eating Lucio-Ohs cereal. Not bad. It's vanilla flavored - smells better than it tastes. Actually doesn't taste like much.

Just watched a Baptiste gameplay video. Looks like his direct damage dealing kind of sucks, but his abilities seem like a lot of fun.

I think he's pretty bad tbh. Don't think he'll see a lot of play. "Shoot the immortality field" is not a hard tactic to learn.

Can you mercy heal the generator from inside the bubble?

I think baptiste's amp matrix will really be key to countering 2 painfully annoying strats; goats and pirate ship. We need something besides CC ults to disperse a crowd
