My note 5 probably goes 45 minutes at best with Milk VR before it has to cool down.

Yeah, I think you are right. I haven't had my hands on the Touch controllers yet, but the general consensus seems to be that they do have a very good chance to be the superior solution when compared to the Vive controllers.

I like the concept, but I'll believe it when I see it. they claim they can do roomscale and 360 degree tracking but have yet to demonstrate it. I'm more worried about them splintering their userbase by releasing the controllers as a separate accessory and not seeing the demand.

Vive recognized that motion tracking and room scale were integral to VR and designed their system around it from day 1. Oculus is treating their motion controllers like kinect.

I finally downloaded a VR porno. I spent 5-10-minutes on other milk vr content and then fired up my porno. 10 minutes in my note 4 overheats leaving me in the lurch with my dick in my hand.

We'll have to wait and see, but I suspect OR are right.

I don't think VR-technology is ready for room-scale yet and I don't believe it's something a huge number of 1. gen VR-users will be using much once the initial buzz of it dies down.

I've been wrong before though

Ah, thanks. I have an Exynos S7 Edge and I've never seen the overheat warning. Longest I've used it was watching the whole of a Pacific Rim 3D 1080p SBS rip on Oculus Cinema. In general the handset feels "a bit warm" after VR.

I can't speak to any differences in SDE or resolution, since I haven't tried any other phone but for me on the S7E the SDE is certainly noticeable but not horrendous, and resolution seems more determined by the source material - can def see some nasty pixelation in a 1080p video, and I gotta imagine streaming Netflix is probably the nut low for image quality. I have one 4k (3840x1920) / 60fps SBS 3D video and it looks absolutely stunning.

this is serious gaming whole other level altogether lot of you guys wont have even heard of this which is fine since most people don't take gaming the highest levels.

Can you read the floating hud in the a10c decently? This is my major concern as of yet. And can you point and click with your hmd and a Hotas button instead of reaching for the mouse?

Yes, I can comfortably read every number on the A-10 HUD.

from Wags;

Although we added Oculus 1.3 SDK support today, there are a number of areas we still plan to improve:

1- 2D loading screens

2- Object clipping at edge of view

3- Re-center key mapping

4- Xbox controller going into sleep mode

5- Improved hangar scene

We are getting closer though to what we feel will be a good DCS World implementation in the Rift.

All in game footage.. :-) you need a decent rig..

I stayed back at work to print just about every manual for DCS for the A10c,....

get ready people for some serious stuff man, this is like its real life same difference as being in the bird for real, same thing, every button works like real except just a few like radio encryption /secure channel not necessary, other than that its an A10c. several other birds, mig21 , mirage 2000, ww2 Plaines,

I'll just pretend that post never happened because I feel like I'd have to cancel my OR-order if I acknowledged it.

lol I hope not, every one should be pumped up for it, the vive is a real blast I tried it out at a store which had the demo and its super smooth and pin point tracking.

can only imagine what counter strike source games are going to be like.

there will be an amazing flavour for every one, (games / apps). if you want to sit down and get a lap dance or more that's going to be there to. I am into helicopter flight, flight sims, assetto corsa, high end stuff.

you do release there are different games just like on a normal screen and that DCS is one of the finest examples of combat and flight simulation.

pushing stupid crap into a perfect decent hype post about dcs just puts you in the couner with the d hat on for people with brain cells and been around the block about gaming.

if you want to play audio surf or watch movies in the rift that's fine also, different strokes for different fokes.

noobs.

only pvp in demanding games / elite, driving is cool.

arma 3 was pretty decent via Vorpex in dk2.

I was more commenting on the controllers themselves in a vacuum. I agree that Vive controllers with room scale > Touch without room scale.

Just cancel and get a Vive if you really want VR now. Not sure why anyone would want to go with 1st gen Rift after all this.

Lower price, much more comfortable headset, sharper view and one less cable to keep track of thanks to the built-in headphones.

Did it come? Impressions?

I may still break down and buy a headset soon. I have so much stuff that I like on DK2 that would be so much better.

Minecraft was released for Gear VR this week and it's really well done.
