I think I am out of the console buying market, but I'll be following the Switch since I am a Nintendo fan for life.

I've owned every major Nintendo console since the NES except the Wii U.

I'm willing to see where Switch is going. The portability aspect does nothing for me at all. I will not be taking my Switch to any rooftop barbeques or night time basketball games. If the system is a worthwhile standalone home console with non-gimmick controls, I'd certainly consider getting one.

I'll be immediately purchasing it on release

Yeah, I haven't missed a same day release since I was a kid. Not going to stop now.

I havent bought a nintendo system since gamecube but im really going to consider getting this. Portability is huge to me since i travel alot. I have a high end gaming laptop and the thing is a hulking beast that id never consider busting out in a plane.

Main things im interested in seeing are the price point and what nintendo titles are in the works. I think 300 or under is the price point this needs to be at since its a nintendo system. I'm not to worried about the power of the system since the best thing about nintendo is the first party titles. Mainly looking to see a mario kart, zelda(seen), metroid, and a new punch out. Some good online multiplayer in the multiplayer games and im sold.

I think battery life and how it connects will be keys.

Battery life is a huge possible positive or what kills the portability aspect of it, never mind the graphics. Just look at Pokémon Go. Playing on my phone takes the battery life from 100 to zero real quick.

I haven't bought a console at launch day since N64...

N64 is the only console I ever did get at launch actually now that I think about it.

The earliest I've ever purchased a console after launch was the Wii U, probably 4-5 months after launch I think?

Let's see
N64 = 5 years after launch
Gamecube = 2 years after launch
PS2 = 7 years after launch
Wii = 3.5 years after launch
PS3 = 5 years after launch
Wii U 4 months after launch

I'm a big fan of cheaper console bundles, big game libraries, cheap older games

I'm 27 years old and I still have every single one of those consoles (minus gamecube, the Wii is now my gamecube) sitting within 10 feet of me right now. Feelsgoodman

Pretty sure I'll be getting this, I'm a huge Zelda fan and I think this actually looks like an interesting console.

Could change my mind if it looks like the game catalogue is thin but if it's decent I'm in.

And open world Zelda to boot.

Also will definitely be getting the little classic NES when it releases, I wasn't allowed to have a video game system as a kid and probably haven't played at least half of the games loaded on it.

Hmmm this exercise made me realize that I probably got most of my Nintendo consoles close to launch, save for the GameCube which I got much later and skipped the Wii U.

N64 and Wii are the only ones I got within 1-3 days of release.

Mario 64 blew my mind. And wii sports bowling was too fun.

I grew up with a Game Boy and Zelda on the N64 Good old days.

I don't own thát many systems, but my gaming library is pretty vast. I like to collect good and rare games for most systems.

What I most commonly play on nowadays:

- GameCube. As it also plays all Game Boy/GBA games!
- SNES. Best retro system out there, imo.
- PS3. As it also plays PS1 games.

(runner ups: Xbox360, Sega Mega Drive, 3DSXL)

As for the Switch, if the price is €250 (which it should be, given the specs), I might pick one up at launch, as I'm a sucker for Zelda. But I don't mind waiting for a price drop either. The Switch does look great though! It just needs those big titles (Metroid, where are you??!).

Wondering if the thing can lay sideways like a normal console. I don't have real estate for a vertical-only thing in my tv stand.

Might be time to finally get rid of that VHS player.

I camped outside of Target for both the GCN and Wii. Both hilarious and memorable experiences. Since Zelda and the 5s clip of Mario look unreal good, I'll be aiming for a redux next year. **** talking with nerds is always a good time.

This is a legit problem that I haven't seen other people mention. You have to keep it on top of a cabinet unlike in a shelf where most people store their consoles. Not that big of a deal but it's enough to annoy some people.

I still keep my Wii that way. Mainly because it is on a large cabinet that can't have cords go through the back.

It looks like the screen will be 6.2" in size, 720p and is a multi-touch screen (10-point).
