Yeah, but have you ever misplaced a microSD card?

Also, I'm super curious what the battery life will be. My iPad Air has decent battery, unless I'm playing any type of game whatsoever. Then it drains like you wouldn't believe.

If this is a full-powered console when docked (I don't know much about the specifics of console tech, so let's just say it's sufficiently powerful), then the Switch looks like it could be fantastic. Just such a clever idea and design.

I suspect it will be too expensive for me to want to buy (plus the cost of games), but with two young kids, it's not a thought that is off the table.

Note: The most modern console I have is the original Wii and I bought it used last year.

Not sure where I read it but sounds like it will be less powerful than the Wii U, which is...interesting. Obviously power isn't everything but releasing a weaker console seems risky. Apparently investors were pretty unimpressed with the launch as well, causing the stock to decline yesterday.

Not sure why this is getting so much hate when it basically confirms the rumours that have been around for a couple of years.

Think of it as the successor to the 3DS, a handheld, a market Nintendo has sown up. If it sells in similar numbers to the 3DS nearly 60 million it will be a massive success and publishers will stick with it. My only concerns are battery-life which has never been a problem with other Nintendo handhelds and cost. The docking station the twin controllers the large HD screen can Nintendo keep the price in line with the 3DS i don't see people paying $400 for a handheld.

that seems extremely unlikely, according to what was released by nvidia and nintendo

Yeah I really doubt it will be less powerful than the Wii U. Stock going down after a hardware announcement is pretty common as well. Both Sony and MS stock went down after the PS4 and Xbone announcements.

Give me some sequels besides Zelda (which has potential)...Metroid, Castlevania, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Ninja Turtles, Perfect Dark, Bond, Donkey Kong Country, Battletoads... plenty more I can think of.

When people said Nintendo needs to appeal to adults we meant grown up games, blood and boobs and stuff. Not watching Blossom play Mario from her studio apartment.
This console is skewed very very very heavily to the Japanese market.

If I can find where I read (about the power) that I'll post it, may have been a misinterpretation on my part. In any case I've been convinced to eschew an Xbone on the off chance I may get this instead.

If that was my argument you might have a point.

Look up people losing Apple TV remotes, then get back to me. Some items are just a lot easier to misplace.

Gotta make homes for all your stuff, yo.

There's really no excuse for a grown adult to "lose" anything. If it's a recurring problem, you may possibly own too much ****.

If you forget something while out and about, that's of course understandable. **** does happen.

However, the idea that one could lose something inside of their own house, such as a remote or SD card, is ludicrous.

I wasted like $150 on a keyboard last year, it had a tiny usb dongle and I have no clue where it ended up, but I can tell you it wasn't behind/beneath any of the furniture in my living room. Strange things happen to tiny objects, specially, like you mentioned, the ones you might carry around.
On this topic though, the cartridges aren't that small so I don't think it's going to be a big problem

I also echo Cotton's sentiments on Nintendo's marketing. Perhaps they are skewed very heavily towards the Japanese market, but the whole idea of Nintendo of America is to market and bring the brand to the American market, so why they can't tailor the message appropriately is beyond me. Yeah let's just strap Reggie's clown shoes on and trot him out again for some stupid off-key borefest. PS4 and XBone advertising is everywhere - Nintendo's marketing is nowhere to be found. Most people didn't even know what the Wii U was and thought it was a Wii add-on! Spectacular failure all around. Hopefully they can improve upon their Wii U failures.

All I know is we go out of the country once a year and this would be great to have full on zelda in tow.

That wasn't Nintendo marketing. That was just some guy putting up a video of his girlfriend gyrating in her panties.

I also think Apple tends to drop after their product announcements because the specs aren't as good as expected; then they go and sell 10 million units. People are probably gonna piss themselves when this thing turns out to be underpowered but all that will ultimately matter is whether the concept works and is fun.

If Nintendo actually figured out leaderboards and online play for their games, and got third party support (which they've seemed to do) they'd be looking so good.

The Wii U is worth buying for Mario Maker alone - the Nintendo brand is >>>>>>>>>> Sony or Microsoft
