Know I am beating a dead horse, but friend let me borrow his switch with Odyssey and Breath of the Wild last 3 weeks.

It is sick how Nintendo can keep both franchises so fresh and incredible and keep the core of what both franchises so beloved remain in place.

Mega Man 11 pre-order trailer:

I still think Mega Man 2 is GOAT, but this looks like a wonderful update to the franchise while remaining true to its roots.

What was your feeling about Mega Man 9 prior to release?

Honestly haven’t played it. I think I played through 4 on the NES and then the SNES version, but stopped after. This trailer piqued my interest though.

Thinking of getting this for my two nieces, ages 6 and 9. The only games they've played is like simple apps on ipad or w/e. Looks like Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, Rayman Legends and maybe the Wii-U Donkey Kong port will be good. Zelda gonna be too tough for them to get into? Any other suggested games for this age group?

Yeah that's a good rec. Yooka-Laylee, rocket league and lego games look pretty good too.

Kids love both Splatoon 2 and ARMS. Splatoon 2 is really fun so if you only went with one I'd grab that.

Also Super One More Jump of course!

Ended up just getting Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 for now. If they get into it I’ll get some more for birthdays coming up. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

It was only active for this past weekend, i think. I got to play a little. The online is so addicting. Games feel action packed. They short enough to keep your attention.

Definitely pre-ordering to save $12.

Me and my sister beat Mario odyssey together. I can’t afford a switch but I’ll save up.

Gave my nieces Switch today. They wanted to play Odyssey first and I let them play 2 player with the horizontal joy-cons. They quit the tutorial when they got to the frog bc they kept jumping off and dying. Put in Mario kart and did maybe 1/2 dozen races. The younger one was basically in dead last every race, older one got some 2nd's and 3rd place with the assist mode on. Seemed like they were having fun with that game. Later on I saw her playing some soccer game on her Ipad lol.

The last Nintendo product I owned was the Gamecube and this system itself is v impressive. This seems like a mandatory purchase if you have any interest in handheld gaming. I own a Vita and this is leagues ahead on all fronts it seems like.

The only negative things that stood out to me was the joy-cons feel kind of flimsy and delicate. I've winged some NES controllers hard AF when I was a kid and never broke one. Idk if these would withstand being dropped on a tile/hardwood floor. The accessories that add L and R buttons to the top of the Joy-con for horizontal mode allow you to insert them in the track the wrong way which is a poor design choice and could've been easily remedied.

You're definitely right about being able to insert them in the wrong direction. Definitely a design flaw. I do think the included piece they slide into turns them into a totally acceptable controller, especially for kids.
