Nintendo own 100% of DK64, it was one of the first 64 games released on the Wii U VC. They can't use Diddy Kong Racing because it has Banjo and Conker in it.

Mario Golf and Tennis both awesome.

I mean if it's anything like the NES/SNES classic then it doesn't matter what it ships with, takes 10 mins to hack it and play whatever you want. It will be known as the "WCW vs NWO Revenge Classic Mini" to me.

The complexity of N64 emulation is probably a bigger barrier than figuring out the game lineup.

They'd presumably also have to improve the hardware a bit. They used the same internals in both the NES and SNES editions, but it probably wouldn't be enough for N64 emulation.

yeah, N64 emulation is so bad that no emulators are legal for speedrunning, as opposed to e.g. snes where most are fine

That's why I'm hopeful for an N64 classic. Nintendo wrote a great(and probably the best) N64 emulator for the Wii and Wii U but it didn't support every game, I'm hoping they expand on it.

i've noticed the snes mini dropping frames playing super mario world. maybe because it's recording my play for the demo mode. but seems strange.

I'd prob buy a PS1 Classic.

I wonder if Sega has blown their shot since they allowed third-party manufacturers to make cheap crappy retro consoles.

Yea I have the PS3 Genesis collection which is excellent. To be fair, obv they make money from those collections; perhaps even more than whatever the profit margin on the mini hardware would be if the market was dying for Genesis games (which I'm not sure that it would be anyway).

WWF No Mercy is kind of considered the last best wrestling game. Article sounds cool so I'll read when I'm in front of the PC but I'm going to assume it's because AKI lost the license and Yukes developed the games exclusively and Yukes suck balls. AKI's engine was awesome and used in a bunch of non WCW/WWF games as well, Yukes engine is garbage which I don't think they've changed in at least 10 years, they just keep adding to it.

Hah I read it and was spot on. Pretty cool article though thanks for posting. I never knew the Yukes games were built off the Simple 1500 wrestling game which was funny to me since I bought it for like $3 when I was in Japan a few months ago.

Odyssey is 97 on Metacritic through 60+ reviews. It's pretty much a top 3 GOTY contender.
