The lineup is fantastic just based on the games listed below. Secret of Mana was a very fun game for it's time with utilizing 8 different weapons and different charge attacks for each on top of spells. I think there were like about 35-40 bosses in that game too if I remember right.

Other top SNES games from Nintendo include Super Metroid, Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World, as well as Earthbound, Star Fox and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The console also had some of the best RPGs of the era, including Square's Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana.

It's not confirmed but it comes from a credible source. That list is just eurogamer listing off some titles.

That isn't the lineup; they are just saying those are some good SNES games

this should be even more successful than the NES mini imo

I mean, there are some good NES games but the SNES has a ton of games that are still great by any standard and not just nostalgia or retro-ness

Super Metroid is the greatest game ever made

Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger are also games everyone needs to play through at least once

My Super Metroid cart that I bought used 10-12 years ago doesn't work well and any movement will reset the game. I have never played Earthbound. I've played DKC 2 on VC, but played original DKC on Gameboy Color which was horrible. If those three and Final Fantasy 3 and Mega Man X are on it, I will buy it.

Already own working copies of (either VC or SNES cart):
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Castlevania IV
Zelda
both Mario Worlds
DKC 2
Mario Kart
F-Zero
2 versions of Street Fighter 2
Kirby Super Star
Star Fox (never really played it much, can't get over the graphics)
Super Mario RPG
Super Punch-Out

I am wondering if the Metroid that is going to come out on the switch will be a side scroller like this or like Prime. Thoughts?

You have a similar taste in SNES games that I have. There are a few for sure I'd like to see on the list like Super Ghouls & Ghosts, Contra III, and maybe Actraiser.

Mini game boy micro imo

Buttons so small you need a bent paper clip to play

I expect a 3D game and that's probably for the best. I like Super Metroid better than the Prime ones but I'm not sure if I'd even want them to try to make another side scroller.

I'll buy a 3D Metroid for switch but I'll keep playing Super Metroid for the real deal.

Final Fight trilogy needs some love.

I agree that Super Metroid is the GOAT but I'd still like to see them try another 2D game. None of the imitators have come close. If they go 3D again then I don't want another Prime style game. Either way I'll probably snap buy it.

Axiom Verge was decent if my memory serves correctly. I liked both Prime and Super Metroid for different reasons. I even enjoyed Metroid II for Gameboy. I will definitely buy it regardless of which way it gets made. I just need more hype other than Odyssey at the moment on this system.

+1. Nintendo has shown that they're still capable of making great "2D" Mario and Zelda games (New Super Mario Bros Wii, Link Between Worlds), so why not another 2D Metroid?

Switch obtained. Waltzed into the store and bought one of the three they had. Haven't turned it on yet so dunno if it'll have hardware issues.

That was released 15 years ago.
