I mean, yeah you can be annoying, but in no way would I have thought you'd sink to such lows.

Not looking at the Zelda thread or videos/streams while I play.

My biggest complaint about the Switch is very stupid but it's real. There's no UI or eshop music and that makes me sad.

Pro tip - set your RGB range from automatic to full in the TV output settings.

That depends entirely on what display you've got connected and if it is capable of RGB or Limited. For most people automatic should be correct unless Nintendo have not implemented this setting properly (wouldn't be a shock given the obviously rushed state of the launch), or they have a badly behaved TV / monitor (quite possible). A TV is very likely to be limited, a monitor is certain to be Full.

That said, it should be fairly easy to put up a test image from somewhere and swap between, see which looks correct. Although now that I think about it I'm not sure how - no web browser yet. Maybe can put one of the SD card?

edit - clarified, as per: http://referencehometheater.com/2014...ll-vs-limited/

That's really interesting and I was pretty ignorant to most of it, thanks for posting. I'm playing on a monitor and haven't tried on my TV yet so that's why I got better results with full. Good to know for the future.

I'm usually not a fan of Game Theory, sometimes he has some good ideas but the majority of it just seems like "Overthinking: The Show" to me. With that said I watched his Switch episode and he brings up a pretty cool point about the potential of VR on the console. Basically use the Joycons to control and dock the Switch into a headset. Apparently Nintendo has already filed patents for it. Worth checking out -

If you had to choose between switch and PSVR, what would it be? Interested in both and cant decide.

For the price I'd say you would get a lot more value and use out of a Switch but they're too different to compare. If you want VR then PSVR is the obv answer. That guy's theory about Switch VR is still just a theory and even if it came true, 720p VR would be pretty average.

Switch will be if you want to play Nintendo games and a powerful handheld. It comes down to how much you want Nintendo games over VR.

My wife got me a Switch plus Zelda yesterday. Unfortunately, I don't really care about either of those, honestly didn't even know there was a new Nintendo system available.

Now I'm wondering if I should give it a shot anyway or just put it on Craigslist/ebay? Looks like the combo sells for at least $500 there.

I mean, at least play around with it to see if you like it. I don't know your wife but I assume most wives would be pissed if they got you a gift and you just turned around and sold it. But what do I know, I'm not married.

Best Buys in the area list switch as out of stock. Target has "limited" neon versions, while gray is listed as "in stock" at more stores today than yesterday.

I figured it could be something like Pokemon GO on steroids. Nintendo has always been about making lives better for people struggling, don't see that ever changing as long as Miyamoto is still around.

I'd like to play around with it, but opening the box will diminish the resell value. Can I at least return it to Target after using it for the weekend?

Since we're both rational people, my wife told me to return it or sell it instead of using it for 2 days and then putting it in a corner of the house if I wasn't interested in it. When she got me a new iPad Pro last year even though my old iPad was still doing fine, I asked if she would use it too. After she said she would, I didn't even think about returning it. FWIW, nobody used that $99 pencil for the iPad so far, don't even know where it is. But she doesn't care about video games, so keeping the Switch for her isn't a good idea either.

Because it was a gift from your wife, but if she's cool with it I guess it's fine. I still wouldn't though.

that screen is 720p right? it's going to need a huge upgrade at some point to be viable for VR

Good god. 1 2 switch looks like it might possibly be the worst game of all time. How are they justifying selling it for money instead of making it a pack in?

Bare with me as I just had surgery on my thumb yesterday and am still on pain meds while typing this with 1.5 hands...

1. How do you tell when the joycons are fully charged? I'm charging the system now with the joycons on the side of it.
2. Can you register the system (like a tv), or just the games? I cant find where if you can register your console but read you can register the games.
