No it is not. Celeste is a masterpiece. Cuphead is Fran Drescher's voice.

This should be on the game cover. Straight truth.

Haha yeah, I was worried it may have been too much. I'll take that feedback into consideration tho. I wasn't sure how to make a level difficult without being too over the top and also keeping you on track somewhat. I'll tinker some more tho and make more I'm sure.

No the level was totally fine - just personal preference. Aesthetically it was good. I'm not a huge fan of the 20s speedruns, but know I'm in the minority.

Oddly enough, Origami King reminds me of Ocarina of Time. Slicing grass was satisfying to a level that the rest of the game didn't matter; that's how I feel about nailing flowers with mario's hammer, not really in a rush to do anything. I didn't feel that way about Mario Odyssey, feeling a need to reach benchmarks to magically gain access to new areas was way more formulaic to me - and this game has been entirely linear so far...knowing it becomes an open world described as "big" for me means the apparent skill level might not ever matter.

Yeah I need to buy this game

[spoiler free] -I'm browsing a playthrough of Color Splash for a sanity check. That game looks like it takes place in a shoebox, and almost appears in slow motion. I didn't play it, I'm massively irritated by the sound of the text boxes and the whole thing appears unpleasing.

I've been up all night playing the new one, and I haven't played vgs intensively in more than 10 years. The music is full-stop, I don't know what they did for this game but the score is out of this world. The area I'm in now has a fanciful oriental piece with sharp wind instruments mixed with a new age sound that's indeterminable. The title screen music is terrible, but it illuminates the in-game sound upon stepping in. The art team went ****ing nuts.

Continuing the Zelda theme, this Paper Mario is Botw to all other paper marios. It might even be the finest mario game they've ever made. And frankly, this game (so far) is more complete than BotW, which to me was a rock climbling simulator with just enough zelda stuff sprinkled in.

I'm so glad someone else thinks BoTW is a rock climbing simulator too. I thought I was just doing stuff wrong for not enjoying it.

botw was good. Would have been fantastic if it had dungeons and less disposable weapons

it was not even top 3 of the games of 2017 though imo

Jish, I'm attentive to what you'll think about it. Naturally there are plenty of 1-star reviews by those finding it dissimilar to a game released 16 years ago.

battle system delight...unfortunately i play this game while exhausted after the 10th bowl of the day or so

Spoiler:
Battling is a puzzle + shot clock, with some action timing. It's like solving a chess puzzle on a circular rubix cube. Sounds more epic than it is, I don't know how to describe it, but it's both solid and challenging. You can ramp up the difficulty as well by waiting longer on the clock.

Anyway I brought up the chess thing because I was semi tilted at how bad I am at the battles where if I had more time or some way to study the patterns it would be easier. Boom - in a training center there's a machine with a ring trainer - tactics problems to work on for study!

Yeah, the battle system intrigues me. I have not picked up the game yet, I need a solid weekend to pull the trigger.

Girlfriend and I played through Superliminal this afternoon. Some good mind-bending fun in the vein of Portal. Hit a few spots with terrible framerate, resetting the Switch helped.

I may have come off a bit hot on this one. Origami King is still really good, just not ground shattering to my knowledge. A+ presentation without a doubt tho.

I can't will myself to finish this game lol.

Spoiler:
Not really a spoiler - the game is divided into areas. The first two were breath taking for me, especially the second one. The third area is
Spoiler:
an oversized field
and the fourth one is even less spectacular.

The game is hard to put into words. It's extremely surreal and consistently rewarding. I get really intense tracers from playing - like if you've gone skiing, on the drive home feeling as though you're still skiing - I put down the controller and I keep processing the geometry in front of me. Since the game involves toying with Escher spaces, the mindset carries over into real life. I almost got sick once lol.
