Nice. I have a bunch of $ just sitting on the eShop that I'm not using so this will be something nice to buy and hold on to

I got Super Blood Hockey, and found an exploitable bug (putting in spoilers because it can make your players OP and might reduce your enjoyment of the game):

Spoiler:
At the end of a franchise game, when you cycle through your players and their stats are increasing, press B (back) to go back to your first player. It will go through the players again and their stats will increase again. You can do this as many times as you want. Brain damage will stack as well, but it's probably worth the tradeoff.

Disclaimer: I only stumbled upon this once by accident, don't know how repeatable it is.

What do you do with money in franchise mode? All the players you can actually buy are ****ty, so the players on your roster (once they get some experience) seem like they'll always be better than the players you can buy who have a max rating of, like, 40. (I'm still in season 1, idk if things change later)

Oh wow, that's kinda lame. Using an exploit like that will definitely reduce enjoyment/replayability. I found the subreddit and sent a PM to the game's dev about it, hope you don't mind.

Yeah, your players are always going to be better than those in the catalogue. The difficulty comes in trying to beef up those new guys to your current roster, while avoiding serious injury. Even the strongest of lineups can suffer setbacks. I usually dominate in brawls, but I just had an almost maxed player get instantly KILLED due to a crushed skull after losing a brawl. It took me a few seasons before I had a comfortable lineup with a backup for every position (except for goalie, apparently you only need one goalie).

I thought about detailing a post with tips and tricks, but figuring it out yourself is honestly a big part of the fun. It's definitely one of those games that are less fun if you start out knowing optimal strategy.

Also Zelda/Crypt of the Necrodancer mash up (Cadence of Hyrule) coming Thursday and a good sale going on in the eShop right now (Celeste $13 and Hollow Knight $7.50 are must buys imo, plus if anyone somehow doesn't have Mario Kart 8 or Odyssey they are on sale for $40, bunch of other deals too). Also Slay the Spire was released on Switch last week, which is a fantastic game, and Mario Maker 2 in a couple weeks. Nintendo killing it.

Fire Emblem is a great Tactics RPG series and this game seems a little bit different but very intriguing

What makes mario maker so good? Do you like to design your own levels or play others?

Does it allow you to play the old mario's in full over again or just use that type of level design?

I don't make my own levels. I just love playing challenging platformer levels. And you can race for completion time vs everyone else too. There are some really cool and challenging levels.

A bunch of great mario 1-3 style levels. Many are very challenging and the game forces you to beat the level before you can upload it so they are all technically beatable even if some are really hard

I've played most English-released FE games and already preordered the new one. Now I just need a switch...

Out of the older ones, Radiant Dawn is by far the best one (with Path of Radiance probably at 2nd place), but unfortunately Radiant Dawn is pretty expensive these days.

Very addicted to Slay the Spire at the moment. Very well designed game IMO.

Red deck clearly OP compared to the other two. Blue deck really difficult to get to a decent power level.

I have gone through phases thinking each character was clearly the strongest multiple times lol. At a point now where I just think they are all quite good. I do think that for early/mid ascension, Defect (blue) is likely the strongest/most consistent class though. Focus on focus

30-45 minutes is typical for a win once you get used to it. Prob closer to an hour initially or if you play more deliberately.

Yeah that's about the time I'd throw out at first. It's pretty mentally exhausting at the start getting used to all the mechanics, but after 10-20 play throughs it gets more intuitive.

I think the biggest thing that helped me is not always adding a card to my deck. Because your deck constantly shuffles through, you want the highest recurrence of strong cards.

Just needs 2 player local where you can both play the same levels taking turns

Looking for any tips for a new owner. I'm more interested in using the portable aspects at for the near future. Does it sync with bluetooth headphones? Any essential add on equipment other than a larger SD card?
