A month a half later and I still think the joy cons suck in handheld mode. Maybe if they made a grip like they do with the 3DS it would help but right now it's too comfortable for me to play a dual stick game on it. Would love some in the style of the Wii U or Vita with a proper D-Pad but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Glass screen protector and dock sock ordered. Sadly, only one will be here by Monday. What are people doing for body protection on the go?

Agree with this. Would be ideal for me if the joy cons were less further apart - in other words, less wide.

Here are (approximate) screen widths:
Original 3DS: 3.5''
3DS XL: 4.9''
Switch: 8.3''

I'm guessing I could get used to something like 6'' instead of 8.3''.

It would be aweomse but I highly doubt the SNES classic will contain things like Chrono Trigger or FF2/3.

Square/ENIX would likely demand a relatively expensive licensing fee for their inclusion (relative to your average 20-25 year old game).

Luckily looking over the best SNES games out of my own personal library, almost all of them are titles Nintendo has the full rights to anyway. I'm sure they'll sprinkle some third party titles in but only those they can get pretty cheap.

Chrono Trigger (Square)
Contra III (Konami)

Donkey Kong Country series
Earthbound
Final Fantasy IV (Square)
Final Fantasy VI (Square)

F-Zero
Mega Man X series (Capcom)
Secret of Evermore (Square)
Secret of Mana (Square)

Star Fox
Super Castlevania IV (Konami)
Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (Capcom)

Super Mario All Stars
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Super Metroid
Super Punchout!
The Legend of Zelda: LTTP
TMNT IV (Konami)

Can you require a parental pin for purchases? I'd love to save my eshop password but worry what would happen if it's stolen.

That or a PIN just to get to the home screen.

Well it only took about 5 weeks but my Hori stand just shipped...hopefully this is a good stand. The Orzly one is junk with no vent holes (I got a refund at least).

MK8 looks pretty sick on the Switch's screen.

Yeah it's pretty awesome. The HD rumble on the pro controller is subtle but a nice touch as well.

My copy from Amazon just got here today. One thing I'm surprised by is how much I play in portable mode. It's something I never thought I would use much but pairing it with the pro controller makes it really convenient.

Some notes of my ownership as a Switch

Took a solid 6 weeks to beat Zelda. I did explore nearly all the map before going to battle Ganon. Overall a fantastic game.

I am amazed Virtual Console games are really not being posted on the eShop. Curious if they will put it out anytime this year.

Just got Mario Kart. It just isnt that enjoyable for me. Prob just because of playing 1p. Maybe I have grown out of this game

I dont have hardware issues, but an odd thing with my Samsung TV. So with an Xbox One or PS4, if you power it on, the HDMI auto powers on the TV set and changes it to that input. Well my switch is doing something different. Lets say I play it, then turn it off and go to input of my cable box. Well randomly 15min later, it will go back to the HDMI the Switch is connected on. The only way to stop it is to pull it off the dock. Not sure if anyone ran into this.

Picked up Kamiko for $4.99. I'm about 3/4 through after 45 minutes...kind of fun but obviously quick (and cheap)...probably not a ton of replay value unless you want to play with another character doing the same levels for maybe a speed run. It's too bad they don't have a random area generator...it would add value to playing with the other 2 characters (3 total to choose from).

Previously I hadn't bought any Mariokart games since the SNES and N64 versions (but played a sh*tton out of both of those). So far I'm really digging MK8. Haven't yet done anything above 150cc because I'm a pussy and want to experiment with all of the characters/vehicles and also familiarize myself with the new courses.

Ok, I've now completed Zelda, Bomberman, Kamiko, Blaster Master Zero, and Shovel Knight Specter of Torment. I'm probably going to hold off a bit on Mario Kart...are any of the other low cost games worth playing that are one downloadable list?

Binding of Isaac isn't exactly low cost but you'll get hundreds of hours out of it.

I saw that...reminds me of the old Smash TV game I think assuming you use both analogs to move and shoot. I thought about it, but was going to maybe hold off on that and Mario Kart until they dropped those two prices. I saw a decent amount of lower cost sort of arcade style games in there and was curious on if any of them are good or not.

Shock Troopers and Metal Slug would be my picks if you wanted some of the arcade games.

I thought it'd be 2d zeldaish but, as mentioned, it was very much like smash tv. I also hated the dual analog controls. I just got bored with it super fast. That's not to say it's a bad game.
