This year's game released at midnight and for the most part it's same game w/ updated ratings with a few exceptions.
Defenders can now move their sticks independently of their bodies to make blocks and forecheck and a new game mode called NHL 3's which is basically regular season OT rules.
3's have been fun, but the one thing I don't like about it is that online play for the mode is integrated into the EASHL which could lead to making finding 6v6 games even harder to find.

IMO the mechanics of the game keep getting better every year, but for some reason EA insists on further splintering the MP community by adding new MP modes that no one asked for.
