I haven't played an EA sports game since NHL 2001.

I just bought an xbox and NHL 12, and I feel like it's impossible. Obviously After 20 games I'll feel more comfortable, but any advice for someone just starting? I find myself mashing buttons when I'm trying to hit someone, and it's impossible to get anything going offensively.

I can beat the "rookie" skill level, but I'm pretty sure anyone could. Pro rapes me, I havent tried the other 2, and the one ranked versus game I played, I got schooled.

Anybody else getting plagued by the dive into goalie while hes covering up the puck glitch goal in EASHL? According to the EA devs, this glitch won't be addressed until NHL13...lol...

k I'll mess around there. Shouldn't I be hitting the Right Bumper as I hit someone so that it pokes the puck away, or hip checks or something?

RB is poke check. Right stick is body check, click and hold the right stick for hip check. A button is stick lift.

I literally spent about 3 hours today messing around with practice mode... I can now pass and pick corners on slap shots, but dekeing is still hard as F. I always get in too close and cant get a shot off, or i let the weakest backhand poke shot go.

playing 5 on 4 in practice mod is fun as hell though.

So has anyone played in the EA arena lately? I thought about getting better and playing in some tournaments but I'm broke from my last Vegas trip and I suck atm. I was looking for freerolls but haven't seen any lately.

id just practice in random 1v1 games until you think you are ready and then play some of the $5 tournaments on there. some of the people are actually good but a lot of people just think they are good

2p2ers still playing this? Somebody got me this for Christmas and for whatever reason this year I'm not lagging that bad, some games not even at all.

Not sure if I'm going to take the game as seriously as I used to but I don't like to lose and I'm a quality player, albeit rusty. Hit me up - GT: IBYCFOTA

Gotta love it when Dmen double as forwards, OTP=no defence. So rewarding when you run into a well oiled machine complete with players playing their position! =O
