Belok's house, just happened about 5 minutes ago:

I tried helping him save it by breaking blocks in front of the fire, but it jumped and I caught on fire so I had to jump down to the water.

Then the trees caught on fire:

And this is what is left. Belok is standing there in shock:

At least the fireplace is still there.

I guess you haven't seen the hundreds of youtube videos of someone showing off their new fireplace or a tutorial on how to build a fireplace and their entire house burning down.

Mobs are turned on tomorrow so everyone involved in the server. Get ready for them.

Also...Introducing movie nights!

And...that's me at the front throwing dirt on megloo. hahaha

How do I get a texture pack?

You'll find a ton of them in this forum - instructions for installing them are usually included in the threads.

I use Minecraft Enhanced which is pretty awesome, but there are tons of other great ones too.

I guess I need to start mining straight down to get my resources. This is what I usually do first but this time I wanted to clear a mtn down to stone then turn it into a building..

Guess I'll hold off on that..

As long as the area you're working in is lit up you'll be alright. Having mobs on is alot easier to find the dungeons/big cave systems, which also means easier to find resources.

Just make sure to carry a sword with you.

Ya I just go down to Bed rock and start exploring with tunnels and caves I make around bedrock to level 16.. This is where the diamonds are as well..

**** you saw that tunnel I made.. Landed me in the only dungeon I've found and the whole network ended up being a huge underground network..

Wish those guys werent *******s, I still got like 15 diamonds on that server..

I tried using the 256 texture pack and now my game crashes whenever I log in. I used the patcher after I put the .zip file in my mods section, but it didn't fix it. I don't think I have a minecraft folder on my computer anywhere to delete it.

Might have to try uninstalling the game.

The minecraft folder is in c:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\ as .minecraft.

Delete the 'bin' folder here and Minecraft will automatically download what's needed the next time you start it.

Are you sure you installed it correctly using the Mpatcher thingy? If so, it should just be a matter of placing the zip-file with the textures in the .minecraft 'texturepacks' folder and selecting it in the minecraft menu.

Now it's saying I can't connect to minecraft.net.

This is pissing me off.

EDIT: It finally went through, showed it downloading something, but then after it was done it crashed again.

EDITx2: Finally got in. Went into the .minecraft folder and saw there was a texture folder. I just deleted the .zip file and now it works fine.

I hear ya. We used the give command though. It might be nice to go back to when stuff was worth something.

Someone who came in the server stole some of my stuff from a box I hadn't yet locked. Diamonds, gold, lapis etc... You may have thought it was a public box? It wasn't. Please return my things. Thanks.

That is why you hide your chests with nice stuff in awesome hiding places. If they can't find the chest they can't steal anything from it.

My best hiding place was underneath the bridge across the moat surrounding my house.

Doesn't work if people use maphacks to search for chests....

We have a system of locking chests anyway. I forgot to lock them up. Think it might have been the same person who tried to burn a load of our stuff down. lol.

I can't see running a server without a whitelist. I know I'd be crushed if somebody started ****ing with my work.

Many mappers allow you to map just one type of item. From there, you just have to paste the only-one-item map onto a full map. This is a good way to find diamond too.
