Really? Unless it's changed recently, you should not starve to death - you stop losing hearts when you've got 4 left. It depends on the difficulty you play with, but if you were on the 2+2 server, this shouldn't happen (unless Josh changed the difficulty recently).

As long as it's replanted I don't think anyone would mind - anyone's welcome to take what they want from my farm under my house near the stronghold as long as it's replanted. You can take seeds from the chest there to help get started with your own farm too.

IS obsidian bugged? I just can't mine it with a diamond pick... it keeps "respawning" immediately after i mine it, dropping no block.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that at all. I still would have ended up making a mad dash in/around things trying to stay alive, but knowing that would have made it a little less stressful.

I exaggerated a bit. Starving took me down low enough that a spider took me out, and a so did a small fall. I didn't survive long enough to see if I'd actually starve to death, and between trying to find resources, and the bad experience of the creepers in someone's house, I didn't have a shelter put up.

So i just bought this and got started and the Single Player is so laggy that its almost unplayable. dont know what i am doing wrong

my house keeps blowing up just made of dirt but even during the day it an entire side will just blow up while im cutting down a tree next to it.. wth is going on

Creepers are silent suicide bombers. Keep your eyes peeled, build your walls thick and out of stone, and fence off areas for safe harvest (or at least harvest far from where you've built).

i found the side of a coblestone mountain and built straight into the side. finally got the exterior wall and ceiling made out of coblestone.

When you decide to build a house out in the open, try digging a pit around the perimeter(2 blocks wide, and 3 blocks deeps). That should keep any mobs from getting close enough to damage your house. Also, glass windows around your front door are a must so you can see if a creeper is right outside it.

The lag is probably caused by the world still generating around you, and your viewing distance being too far out. Set your viewing distance to something shorter if you need too. Also, try reducing the sound level in the game(not to be confused with your speaker volume) because those seem to cause a decent amount of lag.

Are there any mods other than Lockette installed on this server? I only ask because some of the mods I have installed still work when I'm playing on the server. If it helps, my mods that work on the server are my HUD mini map, and the dynamic lighting mod that allows torches to light up the surrounding area when held in your hand.

I've found an abandoned mine shaft of ridiculous proportions starting around +455, -8, 28 if anyone wants to explore it with me. Other than diamonds and obsidian, I'm pretty much set now, and I've left tons of resources unmined and tons of areas unexplored.

Was the poison effect of Cave Spiders turned off? I ran into a bunch of their spawns but never got poisoned when they hit me.

Last question, for now, what's the size limit on this world?

I just now figured out why creepers are called creepers....

Cave spiders are much smaller than regular spiders and are blue.

Can anyone trade me wool and red dye? Or even only one of the two...

It's the X and Z coordinates to the left - Y shows your height.

Well...****. I was under the impression the world would stop at a predisposed limit, and got bored and tried to find it last night starting around 2am or 3am central time. Is there a way to delete the server saves from around that time? There was only 1 other guy on last night when I was on, and he left before I got too far out there. I feel like crap now...sorry I missed that rule when reading the thread.

Also, what's the deal with animals spawning in 1.8? I've been looking online and can't find a definitive answer: If I build a large, fenced in grassy area in the middle of the ocean will mobs start appearing on it? After the number of trees I cut down for that fence, I certainly hope so...

I'm going to build a station in the sky at (0, 0) with express rails going off in each of the cardinal directions, and stations at the end(close to 1000 in each direction). This is probably a solid 30k+ block project, and will take a long time even if I never have to go get materials myself. So, I've put down a chest for donations next to where I'll be building. If people donate materials I'll even make tracks for traveling in both directions so players won't run into each other. Hell, I may even make tracks for shipping supplies around.

Stations will be large enough players can set up beds, there will be a bank area for chests(both private and public), a giant wall of furnaces, and a crafting area. I'll probably make elevators so people can quickly get up to the stations from ground level, not sure how I'll have people getting down from them.
