From the descriptions, it sounds sorta like a stripped down, 1st person Dwarf Fortress.

Mindless games with no real point and a repetitive nature have a history of doing well. Animal Crossing immediately comes to mind. I actually bought it because I think it has potential to develop into something better with Multiplayer, different rare minerals, different items, etc. There's some potential. Right now it's very raw, but it serves as a alright distraction.

Lol I put so many hours into building random stuff that I wonder why I buy all those flashy new games.

It's addictive because the game world is 8x the size of Earth and you can build using every inch of it.

i watched a couple of the seananners videos and gigantic, deeper animal crossing is the first thing that came to mind.

You are one lucky dude. Took me so many hours to find diamonds. Just dig around near the dimonds, you should find those irons blocks somewhere near. Also remembter to smelt 'em.

Is TNT any good for mining? It's a giant pain in the ass to kill enough of those creepers to get 5 stacks of gunpowder for 1 block of TNT.

I dug a mine way down to the bottom of the world where they have bedrock and I encountered some weird green gelatinous cube things. They didn't seem to do much damage to me and when I killed them they dropped green blobs. What are those good for?

The trick to finding the valuable stuff seems to be to dig very deep and dig around where you find blocks of lava. That's where diamonds and gold seem to generate the most frequently

I made a testrun with a program that gives the ability to modify your inventory, giving me max tnt and all the other stuff to try out ( just go to the minecraft forums, it's callen MineEdit ), and I found out that TNT is only really good to mine sand imo, as it has a bad habit of destroying part of the ores you want to have. Like if you use it on coal, you'll get maybe 3 pieces instead of the 6 you'd get digging by hand.

I also don't like lava furnaces so much, as the fact that you lose the bucket, kinda makes them really expensive.

The green blobs are slimes, and the orbs they drop have no use.

Also, if you would like some slightly better graphics, over at the minecraft forums they have tons of HD graphic packs.

Here is the one I use, called mixcraft

they talked about this on Invisible Walls. Guy has apparently made over a million bucks from this game that he made by himself. Pretty cool.

FYP

He needs to send a royalty check to Seananners, imo.
