find an aussie raid group

Thing is, I'm not going to find a raid group for two months, and have to find another guild because my schedule changes again

They can do that? Is this some sort of punishment or is it normal for them to flip people's lives so suddenly like that?

It's the Navy, sadly they can do whatever the **** they want to peoples lives. Which is also why I'm getting out in July.

Just ask the people on the Truman who put all their **** in storage, sold homes, etc, just to have their deployment cancelled 2 days before they were supposed to leave for 8 months.

It's just not meant to be for any of us I guess....

wish we could have gotten 12/12, but oh well

We're a bit undergeared, compared to most top raiding guilds (most of us are around 504 ilvl, about 5-10 ilvls behind most top guilds, if not more), but OK week

what was the minipatch today? I heard someone in trade mentioning that people should be raiding before "it" is fixed os.

Monks were hitting for like 4 million with 7.5 million crits with spinning crane kick. What they were actually trying to fix, I dunno before the server shutdowns, I dunno

There were a bunch in the 25 man, I'd say probably about 1 per boss, give or take.

I use symlinks to set up multiple installs for my Wow accounts, and somehow the minipatch from today completely borked my setup, so now I'm looking at hours of fixing my main install and setting up the symlinks again. FU Blizzard!

Blood legion seemed to take horridon down really quickly, I kind of figured I that would take a little longer. Though I guess its irrelevant because I also imagine the 3rd fight is going to be the first real brick wall for guilds

Guy from my last guild is in Midwinter now, pretty cool to see him in there on their stream. He's definitely good enough to be there.

Well my guild is ****ing awesome.

My GM found a MW monk that can fill in for me the next two months, and that my spot will be there when I can come back full time. ALSO, he said that any night that I have off and can stay the entire raid, I will be raiding that night, and that the MW monk is completely fine with that.

Lucky, I am.

Also, the nerfs to normal were lol. We one shot the first 6 bosses, tonight.

terrace got me two loots, out of 4 rolls, 3 bonus rolls. 1 ring, 1 shoulder. still no weapon, as I draw very near to getting the 1st tier of the legendary quest done.

any crazy drama in the new raid yet? any guilds get suspended?

I will not be surprised at all if that does not turn out well for someone...either you not getting your spot back, or the monk expecting to keep it. Or the monk not wanting to sit if you randomly show up one night. Or the monk being bad and they have to find someone else who can play well. Don't know exactly what, but I just don't see that turning out as planned, though of course I hope it does.

I read about the nerfs yesterday and they seemed a little extreme..bit of a quick reaction imo.

Also, it looks like blood legion raided for 16 hours yesterday (or maybe they're still raiding? I don't know). I wish so very much I had that kind of free time again..

Well, that monk is apparently a RL friend of the GM, and isn't even currently raiding atm. Plus, all that **** was explain to him in advance, so *shrug*

We'll see how it goes.

IMO, my spot will only get filled if like a week or two into April, the MW monk is just absolute ****, and heals are holding back their progression. Wouldn't be the end of the world if it happened.

We spent some time working on Garalon last night. It's a pretty fun fight. We only got 6 real pulls on him but I think we could probably down him if we work on mechanics a bit tonight. We were taking some extra crushes and I think we were able to smooth that out at the end. We got him to 20% a couple of times and just got wrecked by Pheremones later on in to the fight.

The first part of Throne of Thunder LFR was cool. 5 of us from the raid queued together, and both tanks came which helped a lot. We oneshot the first boss, even though it ended with just 4 or 5 of us stacked right under him praying there wasn't a hard enrage. Horridon took a couple of attempts, good lord that's a lot of adds. Once we figured out that Horridon takes a ton of damage later and DPS is well spent on adds, it didn't last too long.

Then we gave Council 4 attempts, getting better each time. We just couldn't kill the adds fast enough. The sand adds seemed to be overrunning us. I'm guessing with a week or two's worth of experience people will figure that one out as well. It was 1:15am after the fourth wipe so I had to go to bed. One of our tanks stayed and I can see on his Armory that he eventually killed it.

We picked up a Hunter that does pretty good DPS and he has been an invaluable addition to our group. Vizier went down in one shot, Blade Lord only took two pulls. We still have a couple of people that might be "holding us back" a bit but I think we can get at least a couple more kills in HoF in the coming weeks.

I was pretty excited for Fire to make a comeback this patch, but I am starting to see what some people are talking about that it won't really take off until past ilvl 510 or so. Right now I have just over 19% crit on my Armory, Ataxus (Blood Legion) has over 32% crit (522 ilvl, so basically all Normal ToT gear). Fire is still pretty fun to play but going back and forth last night from pull to pull, Frost undeniably felt better and did more damage.

I'm taking a different approach to Frost though. A lot of sites are saying it's Int>2haste>crit. I'm using the Fire method of 2crit>Int>Haste. I've got it to where I'm right at 25% crit self-buffed, so with Shatter essentially 100% of my Ice Lances and Frostfire bolts will crit. With the Glyph of Icy Veins, every nuke I launch during Icy Veins is split in to three smaller nukes, each doing 40% damage. Having each one of those crit is pretty sweet. They also cleaned up a little bit of the micro-management of the Pet with Frost which feels better.

Also, hooray for a 40% mage bomb hotbuff!
