agree about grizzly and coral, but piker and the white 2/2 are important in their (nearly) monocoloured aggro archetypes

Interesting, A watered down Wrath.

I just hope the Kor are soldiers in Zendikar.

Shameless brag, but just wanted to say, I think I am finally figuring out this silly game. I have been lurking and reading this thread as well as a couple others and trying to improve, and my rating has gone from a 1450ish to 1739 as of today. I am pretty happy with how much better I have gotten in the last couple months, this game is way harder than I initially thought. I still make tons of mistakes, but I think I am drafting extremely well and playing only marginally bad. Won 3 of my last 4 8-4s, and the 4th was a 2nd. M10 seems kinda limited though, but it has been going well. Overrun wins many a game for me, for some reason people keep passing good green cards relentlessly. Anyways, thanks guys

I highly recommend drafting some different blocks with friends or even online when they put up the throwback queues. Core sets are less play-intensive and generally lack situational depth.

I've been getting my ass handed to me drafting m10. I've decided that trying to draft RB generally means 3-4 people will have weak RB decks, and they'll get crushed by WG or WB.

Everyone loves their lightning bolts (and pyroclasm, ldo)

I got very good at drafting Alara block I think but got sort of tired at it. I played a shadowmoor eventide draft 2 weeks ago and got handed. LWR-MOR seems to run a bit, maybe I'll try that. I start up school next week though so probably won't be playing as much, and will have a nice break until the new set comes out, hopefully xmas time?

I've been getting crushed at M10 too and that's only in 4-3-2-2s I feel like I'm doing an ok job figuring out which colors/cards I should be drafting and play fine but apparently that isn't the case.

its functionally the same card as wrath, I mean how many cards with regeneration have been good in the history of magic?

troll ascetic is the only one that comes to mind

though given the push towards making regen relevant(doom blade and new wrath) maybe they will make a good creature with regen, which is fine, wrath is overpowered anyway

Spiritmonger was pretty good too, but I think you're right for the most part. Regen has been much more a draft or sealed ability.

Albino Troll and River Boa were both top notch in their day.

Depending on what is printed in subsequent sets, while the new wrath is legal, it could end being better. If any good regenerators get printed, with just 1 mana to regenerate, it could be used in the same deck.

M10 sealed is such a bad format. Most people play G/W or G/W/x and its just whoever is lucky enough to open bombs. Last night, I opened an avg GW deck and splashed for gravedigger/doomblade/assasinate.

Rd 1. vs GW. Barely win even though he has 2x blinding mage and Garruk.
Rd 2. vs GW. Lose vs GWr who has overrun, blinding mages for stall and Hellkite
Rd 3. vs GW. Lose vs Garruk + Behemoth.

So sick of GW.

In the 8-player swiss drafts, people are pretty terrible and if you draft GW, you get some crazy insane picks late and your deck ends up being very solid regardless of whether you open bombs or not and you usually go 2-1 or 3-0. Whispersilk Cloak is an absolute beast in GW.

I played a ton of the M10 release events. Green is by far the worst color in M10 Sealed and the only way it is even playable is if you open multiple Ant Queens and or Garruks. Any deck with green in it will invariably get the ground clogged up on turn 5 and be hosed. Green also has no good low casting cost creatures and is way to slow.

The best decks tend to be the black decks that open good. If you open 2 Dread Warlock in a M10 sealed it is very hard not to go 3-1. Black with any color other then green tends to be good. The format is very creature light and a lot of decks tend to run less then 15 creatures.

I am convinced that GW is the worst color combination in M10 sealed it always looks promising and a lot of people play it, but if you watch replays GW decks almost never win and rarely even go 3-1.

yeah, that would have made more sense

just drafted sick rw deck

Ajani
armor
2x bolt
2x safe passage
2x divine verdict
magma phoenix
razorfoot
spearhunter
white knight
hellhound
griffin sentinel
lightning elemnetal

splashed black @ sb for doomblad & sign in blood if player wasn't black

not enough creatures overall (13) and only won 1 round in swiss... i suck

*edit*
two of the rounds i was 1-2 and got pretty unlucky w/ draws vs opp

one of them he pipered every creature in his deck out as I was trying to keep ajani going and i kept drawing land

other one I got a 26/26 avatar creature out which he promptly mind controlled, then killed my ajani and i coudln't draw anything to stop it (or the other 4 creatures he pulled out in the meantime)
