I haven't done too much thinking on this, but I imagine all cards worth 3tix or more should never be passed in a 8-4

So, I just played my first M10 4322, and I started out blue (2x Mind Control, 1x Wall of Frost), but then found an Overrun 4th pick (!), and started taking green. Afterwards, I got an 8th pick Blinding Mage, and decided on GW.

Second pick I open Ajani, get passed 2(!) Fireballs, and then a Serra Angel.

I proceed to go 2-0 4-0 crushing my first two rounds. I then lose the finals because of mana screw.

I hate variance.

I hope you were playing around 20 lands.

did blue completely dry up or did you really switch out of 2mind controls because of a blinding mage, from reading the post it sounds like you just got really lucky, but I guess getting Serra 4th might be enough of a sign that you made a good switch, who knows weird **** happens constantly in 4322s

Reading you guys talk strat is the most confusing thing i've exprienced the last few months...

I play a few pick-up games with friends occasionally on MTGO, so your strats and abbreviations (and lol the entire idea of a tourney) just blows my mind.

I don't know. It was really weird. Since I got Overrun so late, I started to just pick up all the green, and lost some focus on blue. By the time I got to Blinding Mage, the white was still decent (still had grizzly bears, savannah lions,...etc) while the blue was dried up. Since the blue uncommons are really U-heavy, I just decided to cut my losses, especially after opening Ajani.

You can download and play the M10 precon decks against others for free. Once it gets you hooked, you have to pay $9.99 to create an account (but you will get $10 in credit once its created), and then you can put more money in at any time.

You can play casual games with other players (no entry fee, no prizes), or you can enter events that cost tickets (one dollar tokens) and/or packs that you buy from the store, and you win prizes that are paid in packs (that you can sell for tickets).

They have a new leaderboard feature called Magic Online Championship series that gets you into a "freeroll" tournament each month that awards prizes if you have a certain threshold, and at the end of the year there is a $50 000 freeroll for the winners of these monthly tournaments and the winner of the leaderboard. It's extremely difficult to make a profit playing MTGO though, but its fun.

I'm pretty sure some combo of Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen will take a shot of the active monitor. I can never remember so I have to figure it out each time, you def can do it though.

Anything I should have done differently? Green was ok but I don't think worth it without any bombs and white and blue were sick. I don't think I need the unsummon with the other control cards I already have.

God how do I run so bad at sealed. I've played 3 times and all 3 I've started 0-2 with decent decks because I have to mulligan to 5 both games and draw no land. 6 games like that a;ldkjfa;slkdja;sdkl;lakj.

I'd try to get lightning bolt and fireball in there, but not sure you can make the mana work with so many UU and WW spells, if you had a teramorphic you'd obv play them but without that I think just going UW is good

UGr might work but it seems to be lacking a little power

I've been siding out time warp every game pretty much (for unsummon/negate/ponder), seems like with this deck it'll just speed up a win since I have good fliers, but probably won't change the outcome of many games. Hard to say though because I've lost 5 games in the first two matches from mulliganing to 5 and drawing no land.

Kevin: I would take out white knight for ponder. Getting to 4-5 mana is so key and ponder and 2 lands makes stuff keepable than white knight and 2 lands. Even 2 plains, white knight, the 2W guy, 3 blue cards, isn't the best.

I'd might take out wall of frost for negate/unsummon but it's questionable..

I'm not really sold on the cloak. It's usually better on a big creature that doesn't have evasion (so g/r fatties) and all your stuff is evasion and/or abilities.

I might just take out white knight, veteran swordsmith, and armored ascenion for fireball, lightning bolt, and sparkmage apprentice. So UWR but splash W/R.

Also cut a cancel for ponder.

Is this a draft? Why are there so many cards?
